The most iconic thing about Shante' Waverly was the single, well threaded bracelet that she always found herself spinning the small cubes of when she entered a room full of people and while most people would tell you that it was out of nervousness she could easily assure that it was not. She simply preferred to remain in the background, only come out on the stormiest of nights and then go back into her hole until she felt comfortable enough to come out again but like everything else that was rooted in our heads it was because as her parents had always made sure to strictly inform her it was because she was odd. Not that what they said bothered her too much because she took entirely too much pride in being that as she looked up and seen Jack, big and broad did him no favors as it was not like he could hide in the shadows even if he wanted to. One bracelet twirl, a second bracelet twirl.
"Jack," she said. "I do hope that the call to have me come out was worth it. I can see and feel all of the happiness and joy in here and it has me wanting to scratch their eyes out but alas the last time I did that, they did not think that it was fun. I had fun though and they deserved it."
"It was a lot to see, I think matey it was the shrills of the screams that got to them more than anything but this is not about anything like that. This is actually something much more permanent. Something much more of the way that we both could easily reap benefits from if we play our cards right."
She gave another twirl of her bracelet and finally took a seat. "I don't put in the work for the benefits. That would make me selfish and I find I do not want to be selfish with this. Maybe it is my time on the sea that has weathered me and made nothing but pure cold water run through these veins but benefits are but things that will eventually be taken away. Hower I am willing to listen."
"Bullshit mate," he said as she turned and looked at him and gave a small twirl of fingers, almost as if she was fluffing a feather and then straightening it out as she heard him go on. "However I have an idea." She was concerned because Jack always had ideas but the times of being and nimble and dare she say being quick seemed to be shifting though she did not know. "Well do tell," she said as she twirled her bracelet again. Twirl three and four, intertwine everything just a little more. Still as Jack continued she simply shrugged and finally spoke again to him.
"That's a tall order Jack but fine, you pulled my interest in enough. Just let me know when you are ready or rather what point once the world has once again turned completely and new beginnings are anew that you are. I will keep in touch."
There was always room for failure though but they had enough time to assure that it went off, as smooth as it could possibly but still..none the less she quickly made her way to the darkest of areas where she hear the sounds of the sea, the only thing that truly calmed her and had ever since she was a child. "It's a tall order," she said as she thought about it. "I mean honestly I have never even done anything like it but I could do it, just not sure of the consequences for Jack if he goes through with it." She now understood what Maverick had told her.
A Few Days Ago ::
It was then that the voice of Maverick was heard. "I say do it. I mean if it goes south who the hell cares? You can always spin it into something good later and while I am here would you like some potatoes? I seriously can not take the thoughts of seeing anymore." She shook her head as she spoke. "I am good and no you really need to make those boys pay you in cash. I mean here they are riding off of your coat tails and the most they can afford is potatoes. Highway robbery but I hear you. I need you to school me on that social media stuff too, I need minions."
Maverick laughed as he took a potato and threw it off the balcony. "Scared to use too much of the so called magic on Jack?" he asked. She shook her head. "So called magic, I'm disappointed in you point being I have, well I am putting all of that behind me. I wanted you to be the second one to know it's pretty much official, I'm in too. COMBAT! Not going to lie I'm a bit excited because you said if I got in, you'd be serious and go win some gold so yes, look at fate!"
Maverick rolled his eyes. "Fate is for suckers, followers are where it's at let me show you something," he said as he turned to get his phone. Perhaps he was right but she did not know as her body collapsed right in front of him.
She had watched him die as the waves of words echoed all too loudly. The tides of water played in between her toes as she finally seen Jack's body and yet it was almost something sinister though it looked the same. As she kneeled down working her way through the seaweed and began to drag him back to somewhere safer, the squish sound of water and sand being the only sound in the terrifying night sky. She put him in mostly center of her circle and looked over the candles and lighting as the herbs were sprinkled in the air, as her body movements swayed silently, but with a note of seriousness.
She chanted low, but clearly for this was the dangerous part but the call had to be answered as she watched the flames of the candles move with the sounds and motions of the wind, some coming close to burn out but others standing strong as she watched still in her own presence. "Jack owes me big time," she said as she watched his body sit up and she looked him over with her blue eyes that sparkled like literal orbs had been placed inside of her sockets in the moments that followed as she heard him and her infamous cackle filled the air. "Yes," she said as she took in the new kraken across his chest and shoulder as she placed her hands upon his shoulder and spoke.
"Look at you, born anew, Jack," she said. "I knew this day would come, I just had no idea when but then it became all so clear. We are fated to walk a different, darker path than our associates in Second Coming. All the mayhem that they cause lingers among the lines of a constant trial of their own but you and I, Mr. Tyde are built strictly for Combat." She slightly cackled again as she pulled at his hair and her bracelet twirled up against her arm, capturing his hair in it. She blinked unsteadily because that had never happened before. She narrowed her eyes as she untangled it and spoke. "Oh well, looks like we're weaving something new, don't worry, I'll indeed make sure it's made of shrills and terror."

The stormed roared as the words echoed. "To Thrive In Combat, you must be willing to die in Combat." Still at the moment Shante's body lay seemingly lifeless as the words echoed on. "This savegery runs in my veins," was the last thing that she heard as her eyes opened as she felt the splashes of water hit her and she gasped awake and looked up at Maverick.
