We open up to a scene from the top of a sky scraper. The camera slowly rotates in on Sean Raines who stands towards the edge, looking down over the city. The evening skyline shines as the sun sets over Chicago, and the dark shadows of the streets below start to illuminate with the flashing of the activating streetlights. We are only able to see Raines from the back, but he is not the only person on the roof this night. With short cut hair, and a grey suit, the mystery person stands beside Raines, looking out onto Chicago. The suited man remains quiet as Raines starts to speak.
Raines: “They say time heals all wounds. Which for you John Tolly is a good thing. Good because I have dropped you on your head way too many times over the last little while to be healthy in the long run. But how about we put all of those head injuries aside for a minute shall we? Let us take in the moment. Below me feet stands the one hundred and ten story brainchild of Bruce Graham and Fazlur Rahman Khan. She too, has had better days. Through several decades she was held in the highest of regard. But as the world moves on, so did the reputation of this once great tower. Still amazing, still a great feature of the Chicago skyline, but not near the reputation that once existed under another name.”
The camera once again pans over the Chicago skyline. The bright lights now showing brightly as the setting sun brings darkness to the city.
Raines: “This city. This city holds a lot of history. From the beginnings, of the backhanded Treaty Of Chicago the city has lived a dark and checkered past. The city would fall in 1871 to what would be known as the Great Chicago Fire. The Haymarket Massacre of 1886, which was the result of heavy reaction to labor strikes. There have been internal battles, and wars among those residing in this city, one of the most racial driven coming from 1919. As the 1920’s rolled around we saw some of the most well known underground names of the era. The result was the 1929 assassination attempt of Irish mobster Bugs Moran in Lincoln Park.”
Sean stops speaking and takes a moment to look down over the city he has spent his childhood growing up on the streets of.
Raines: “But much like its present company, this city may be covered with scars from the bad but that shouldn’t impact the memory and shine of the good things that are also what make people come here. The Chicago Theater, Goodman and Steppenwolf Theaters and the world known Symphony Center. The beautiful sights of Grant and Millennium Parks. Chicago has given the world the Lallapalooza Festival. Countless artists and creations has been born out of this wonderful city. Many names that have shaped the world in various ways. Poets, writers, actors, musicians have all brought to the world exactly what the world needed. How many great athletes have conquered the world from our streets. From Robin Williams, Bernie Mac, Michael Jordan, John Belushi, Crazy Billy Corgan and Don Cornelius. We repeated the same old day with Bill Murray, Han Fucking Solo is from this wonderful city. This city brought you the McCallister brothers Kevin and Buzz, Taco McArthur and of course Reginald VelJohnson lived here with a family after leaving Los Angeles shortly after the events of Nakatomi Plaza during Christmas 1988. But this city also brought members of our own industry. Names like Phil Brooks, Bobby Heenan, Larry Zybszko, Mr T, The Road Warriors, Skye Blue, Mad Man Pondo, Meatball and of course the Raines Family. This city has brought joy, and brought tears. From the United Center, Soldier Field and all the way to Wrigley Field. But this time it will bring you the Theater Of War and IIW’s Friday Night Combat roster. The energy that may take down the walls of the Allstate Arena. The energy that will rattle windows at the nearby O’Hare International. This city will bear witness to what will surely go down in history as one of the bloodiest wars in the history of IIW Combat. The marquee calls it The Windy City Riot, but we are not sure is the Allstate Arena can contain it. Two bitter rivals will meet and challenge each other in a grueling battle that will only end when one of us lose the ability to continue. Many people have fallen in a pool of blood John. Many have fallen victim here on the Combat roster. TJ Alexander taken out of the Elimination Chamber last year, Sebastian Hamilton has fought to a bloody end, Crush was beaten in the Elimination Chamber Qualifier, Andre Cash has recently seen what I can do. El Landerson was beat around the ring when he was put in a dance with me and another opponent, Anthony Pheonix and Alex Kincaid had to learn the hard way what happens when you are where you shouldn’t be.”
As the night stars shine down onto the city of Chicago, Raines looks up at them. Taking a moment to just look into the stars, his breathe steams up the cold Chicago night air.
Raines: “John Tolly. The stars have aligned. But the universe will only grant so many chances. Yet, somehow you feel that the world and fate will be in your favour this time. We have been here before, haven’t we John. Yes, as a matter of fact it was only my second match back here in the IIW. My second match under the spotlight after an eight year hiatus from the ring. And the cards were shown to have me and you, the current Hardcore champion. You took that match a little too lightly, didn’t you John. In case all of that brain swelling I have caused you has done some permanent damage let me remind you. You talked about how you were reformed. How you were now one of the good guys. The ones that were effectively just a fucking cult. You had won that title with the ruthlessness you had within, but then you bitched out John. You lost the edge. Like a fucking kitchen knife that hasn’t been sharpened in several years, you were just a shell of your former self. We got into that ring, and yes you put up a good fight, but I put up a better one. I beat your ass all over that ring, finally putting the match to rest by dropping you square down through a table on your head. Your first experience of the Skyfall, but defiantly not your last John. No, you were beaten but not yet feeling defeated. For some reason the offices of IIW decided that you deserved another chance. Maybe it just wasn’t your night huh John. So once again, we met for the Hardcore Title. This time, with me as a champion and you with a slightly bruised ego. They also decided to give you a little bit of company in there this time with the likes of Adam Williams. And yet again, history repeated itself like a whore with a stutter, I beat your ass around that ring. For the sake of repeat matches, I once again dropped you headfirst threw a table with the Skyfall. Now John, this is the point that smart people….and even some of the dumb ones figure this thing out. However, that’s not you is it? No, you fucked off with your tail between your legs like a scolded dog. But you didn’t stay away did you? No you did not. You did seem to smarten up a little bit, and this time did not approach me for a match. No, instead this time you brought me an offer. An offer for a partnership, we would take the IIW by storm, joining an upcoming tag team division kick off tournament. It seemed like it may work, you knew what I was capable of, I knew what you could do when set off the leash. A new John Tolly, you had turned your back on the cult like grasp they had on you and ventured out on a new career. But something was overlooked. I completely missed it when I was weighting out the thoughts of teaming up. You bitched out and couldn’t carry your own weight in the ring. So I took that as a sign, and I did what I felt was necessary at the moment. I took the historic route and once again used my Skyfall to drop you on your fucking brain. It was at this point a hiatus was needed to venture into other opportunities. Months would pass, and the time had come to make my IIW return. Something was different. You had packed your bags and took off to a new show, after I looked into this I saw you being promoted as the great technical wrestler you self-claim and identify as. So I took it upon myself to take your ego down a few pegs. That is exactly what I did, and I took you out of commission once again. But like one of head offices nut puppets you wouldn’t go away. You got involved. Once again I was left with no choice. This fight had to happen for the third and final time. The last chance to do what you so desperately need to do, take down Sean Raines. Since we keep going back in circles, I decided I would find myself a manager, someone who I know and can have my back when another fighter is required. No stranger to IIW, Mr. Drayden Fields has joined my side and will be there when John Tolly and Sean Raines make history in the Windy City Riot. Three matches all back to back, two out of three falls will gain the victory. Obviously I have gone to my roots for my selection. Anything goes, Falls Count Anywhere, weapons, broken bones, it is all in play. We then go toe to toe in something you seem to feel more comfortable with, the winner of this one simply has to make the other submit. I think that one is easier said than done between the two of us. And finally if we need it, the first of us to get the other on a stretcher and locked into an ambulance is declared the winner. I am looking forward to this John. I look forward to ending your obsession with beating me. I am looking forward to showing you that I am the better wrestler. I am looking forward to dropping you down once again on your head. And I am looking forward to knowing you are lying there broken, defeated and crushed after being defeated by the one person you feel you need to destroy……see you at Theater Of War John, bring what you got…..but as history repeats itself…..it won’t be enough….”
The camera once again fades out of view of Sean & Drayden. Focussing only on the skyline as the shot fades out.

Sean Raines is seen standing outside of Allstate Arena.
“John Tolly. The time has come. The planets have aligned and the fates have been set into motion. The broken ego of John Tolly versus the Monster within Sean Raines. We will walk into this arena in two days, but only one of us will walk out in the same condition. There is no doubt in my mind that I will walk out of that ring victorious, after all time and time again it has been proven. The physical, mental ability that is needed to take me down is just not there.” “Believe it or not, but there are only so many times I can kick your ass all over that ring. The Windy City Riot is it John. It is your moment, but we both know you can’t get the job done. Your silence over the last couple of weeks only proves that you doubt yourself. You know as well as I do that The Windy City Riot could be your last stand. You wanted three falls, you wanted a war, you wanted the opportunity to take down the monster. Take down the one that has been causing chaos on Combat. Take down the one who has eliminated so many members of the roster all ready. You could be the hero John Tolly. But you won’t be, no you will merely just become another statistic. Another soul fallen at the hands of Sean Raines. It really is too bad, so many wasted chances…..the only saving grace you can take from this John. The only positive is that in the years to come, they will talk about what we are about to do. They will talk about The Windy City Riot, and they will remember John Tolly…..but only as the bloody mess that was carried out of the arena.”
“Tick Tock John, your time is running out. Are you ready to face your greatest fear?”
