Chloe sits atop a black couch inside of her house, a wide smile across her face. Adjusting her body, she attempts to ensure that she is in full focus of the camera positioned in front of her.
"Heya. I'm Chloe Morrison and I'm so excited to meet you."
She playfully waves at the camera, giggling.
"In case you don't know why we're here today--- and you probably don't, allow me to tell you. I have signed with the IIW. Isn't that exciting? Me, heading to one of the biggest companies in the world, competing against some of the biggest names in the industry. Me. Little Chloe."
She flashes a smile.
"Can you imagine that?"
She giggles.
"Well, you don't have to any more. It's a chance for me to see the world. To show nyself and who I am to a whole new audience. People who haven't seen me perform here in Melbourne. It's my own special worldwide tour and I can't wait to take the stage."
She smiles.
"Beginning when I step into the ring against Eden Youngblood. Somebody who is Australian, just like me--- even if she doesn't live here any more. It's always great to see other Australians making a name for themselves in this sport. After all, we are all one. All unified in flying the flag and bringing the glory of our wonderful nation onto a global stage. It's awesome that I get to make my debut appearance here against another Australian--- even if we're supposed to be rivals considering where we come from."
She shakes her head.
"You're from Sydney. I'm from Melbourne. Our cities have had a rivalry even longer than either of us have been alive. Especially when it comes to sports. NRL, AFL, Basketball, Soccer. Wrestling."
She puts on a puppy dog sad face, before changing it into a smile.
"I don't care about that. You aren't the enemy just because you happened to be born and raised there. Just like I'm not your enemy just because I was born and raised here. We're both from the same nation after all, so we should embrace that. We should be working together, not divided by borders or the fact we are gonna be on the opposite sides of the ring at Combat."
She cheerfully smiles, repositioning herself to remain in the line of view of the camera.
"I've watched you ever since you started wrestling. Both here in Australia and in America. People have talked about you as one of the best young talents to ever come from Australia and you are. I mean that. You are amazing in the ring and I remember wanting to be just like you. Wanting to be able to say I made it just as you have, so I am estatic that we get to step into the ring against one another. That I get to see first hand your talent. Your skills between the ropes, and I get to show you my talents. I get to show you what I can do in the ring. Just as I have been showing since I entered the sport."
She reaches for a glass of water that was next to her, taking a sip before putting it back on the table.
"Isn't that fun? Two competitors getting the opportunity to prove that we can stand with the best in the world at this sport. That we Aussies are more than capable of holding our own at the highest level. This is the sort of thing I live for. It really makes my blood flow and my heart pump a little faster when opportunities like this arise."
She widens her smile, laughing as she rubs her hands gleefully.
"I know they say to never meet your heroes, but I don't believe that at all. I think it's the best feeling in the world to be able to meet your hero in the flesh. To be able to say that you witnessed them in person and that they were everything you could have imagined they would be. You are one of my heroes, Eden."
She sighs longingly.
"The only thing that would make this match better is if it was here in Australia. Whether it be in Sydney or here in Melbourne, or even in Brisbane. Anywhere here, but Florida is fine too. It's still the same, no matter where it is--- but could you imagine the reaction our families and friends would have given if they were able to see this match take place at the SCG? The MCG or Marvel Stadium? The Gabba? Optus Stadium?"
She shudders.
"It gives me the chills just thinking about it. Doesn't it give you chills, too? Maybe one day, we will be able to do this all again here--- this time, Florida is where we go into the ring and dance."
She laughs.
"Don't think I'll be taking it easy on you though. You might be my hero and a fellow Australian but in that ring, we are opponents. Both looking to make our name and let it be known where we stand in this industry."
She clears her throat.
"I don't intend on just being happy to step into the ring with you. I'm not just here to experience it all. I'm here because I want to be the best someday. I want to be like everybody I watched on TV. An icon who people can look up to. See that she paved their way, so that they could make their names in this sport. If that means I have to beat you, then I will."
She extends her arms out for a hug.
"That doesn't mean I won't shake your head and give you a hug after the match is done. Or that I won't be backstage, waiting to share my little stuffed kangaroo with you. A reminder of home and where we came from to get here."
Chloe shuffles the kangaroo into view, sitting it on her lap.
"Look, he wants to be your friend. Just like me. Don't you?"
She uses her hands to get the kangaroo to nod.
"Of course he does. Anyway, I'll let you go now, Eden. Just know I'm super excited to be facing you. Even if I have to defeat you to get to where I want to be. To walk out of combat with the victory."
She waves, getting ready to stop the recording.
"I'll see you there. Bye-bye for now."
She smiles, turning the camera off.

Chloe is walking through a scenic park, taking in all the sights and sounds that she can. Smiling, she takes a deep breath.
"There isn't long now until I make my debut and I couldn't be any more excited. I mean, I can taste it. I can hear the crowd's roar in my ears."
She laughs, continuing her walk.
"This is the time when my body starts to feel all warm and fuzzy, just waiting for the bell to ring and the match to begin. Where I just let my spirit. My soul take control and hopefully lead me to victory. Don't you feel the same way, Eden?"
She smiles, sitting down atop a bench as a man on a bicycle passes by.
"Don't you feel happy and fulfilled inside when you step into the ring? This is what I have dreamt of doing ever since I was a child. Ever since I first laid my eyes on a ring, I knew this is what I wanted to do. This is where I wanted to be and now, I am so close to making it."
She pauses.
"To being able to say I did it."
She looks around at the open parkland surrounding her, the air brushing against her body.
"It starts with you, Eden. As I said last time we talked, I couldn't think of a better opponent to be beginning my career against than another Australian. A woman who has gonw out there and made a career for herself in this sport. Somebody who I truly respect and want to see be the best. The shining light of this sport that I know you can be."
Shaking her head, she smiles.
"No, that I know we both can be. I'd rather be doing this with you than against you, but I know in the ring--- you won't see me as anything other than an opponent. A person you have to beat to get to where you want to be, and the same goes for you in my eyes too. I know that in the ring, I have to beat you in order to get to where I want to be, but that doesn't mean I see you in any less of a light."
Her eyes brighten as she looks happily.
"I won't, but I promise that in that ring--- I will be giving you everything I have. Everything that I have learnt and proving just why I belong here. Why my star is just beginning to shine in this sport. I'm sure you'll be doing the same to prove that you and Cyrus's message is the way of the future. That the 2 of you are the leaders of what is coming."
Her expression is toned down.
"I expect it. I'm ready for it, no matter what."
A man around her age walks across the path in front of her, the 2 sharing a wave as Chloe rests back against the bench.
"I have to be. This is my chance to leave a first impression. Go out there and give the fans a sampling of what I can offer them. Make sure that everybody in the back realises that I'm rising to the top, and I'm not about to let them stand in my way. No matter how much respect I have for each and every one of them."
She stands, beginning to walk in the direction she had previously come from.
"Even if it means I have to bring the best outta myself every match."
She then begins to quicken her pace, almost bumping into a man while walking.
Man: Watch it.
"Sorry."
The man gives her a smile as she continues on her way.
"Eden, I hate that it has to be you I beat, but this is just the start of my story. The beginning of my rise and I'm going to do whatever it takes to get to the top. We can still be friends, but when the bell rings--- I am going to show why I am considered the future of Australian wrestling. A position you know all about, as you were the one who came before me."
She smiles.
"It's my time to take the throne."
She reaches the end of the park, wandering over to her car.
"Bye-bye for now. I'll see you at Combat."
END.
