World Title - Jake E Dangerously vs Jonny C

The scene opens to Jonny C wearing a nice black suit. He is sitting in a large leather recliner. The chair is in what appears to be his finished basement. He has numerous world titles hanging on the wall and a big TV on the other wall. Jonny has his legs crossed and a glass of water sitting on the table next to the chair.
Jonny - You know, when you get to my age, you inevitably start to look back at your life and what you have done with it. You start to evaluate the things you have done or regret the things you haven't. Maybe even regret some of the things you have done. As I sit here in front of you today, I don't regret the things I have done. I am very OK with how my life turned out. I'm at the top of my industry, and I have been for many years now. I have done everything there is to do in the world of wrestling, and that makes me complete. I have held basically every single title I have ever competed for. I have beaten almost every big name in the world of wrestling. Those same names have beaten me as well. Let's be real here for the first time in my career, shall we? Hello my name is Johnathan Cashman better known as Infamous Jonny C. I have had off nights. I've made mistakes in that ring, and I have been out wrestled. It's the nature of this industry that I love, and it happens to everyone. When that happens, I throw myself a little pity party than get back into the gym and ring and work to make myself better than I was when I lost. Losing a big match can absolutely wreck you and your mental well-being if you let it. That's why I make sure to not wallow. It happens to everyone. Well almost everyone some people are looked at as the golden child and get preferential treatment and hand picked easy opponents. I think we all know who I'm talking about.
*Cough* Jake *Cough*
Jonny grabs the glass of water and takes a sip. He places the glass back on the table next to his chair.
Jonny - I'm so sorry about that I have a bit of a tickle. Trust me, I have lost many big-time matches. Shit I lost 2 world title matches this year alone. Yeah, sure, it got me down, but I didn't let it beat me. I got back into the wrestling ring and went on to have the feud of the year with Bam Miller. I main evented every big show IIW has had this year. If there was a big show with a big match, you bet your ass Jonny C was involved. So, looking back at this year, there have been many ups and downs for sure. More ups than downs in my mind, but that's debatable, I'm sure. I would also say that's the story of my career more ups than downs over all I feel. Hell, I managed to get myself signed to a very lucrative lifetime contract here with the IIW. I don't know if that's more based on my level of talent or Osh's terrible business savvy, but either way, it's benefited my life in a huge way. For a better part of 15 years, I have been working here in England for the IIW. I uprooted my entire life. I bought a house over here to help with the commute that's how much this place means to me. I love the IIW and I'm super proud of the career I have made here. I have arguably been the face of IIW this whole entire time. There have been other legends that have come and gone, but only myself and Jake E Dangerously have stood the real test of time. We are the only 2 men who have been able to hold on to main event level careers for well over a decade in the IIW. That's saying something, man. it's truly remarkable.
Jonny stands up walking over to the IIW World title hanging on the wall. He pauses for moment looking at the title than places his hand on the center plate.
Jonny - 14 years ago I won this title. It's insane to think it was that long ago but it was. Winning this title was one of the greatest nights of my life. I'm older and wiser now. That means it's high time that I win this match at Red Alert beating Jake and taking that title home with me where it belongs. That all being said that brings us to this moment right here. I've looked back at this last year in the IIW and my whole career overall, but a lot of the reflection has dealt with 2021. It's been an awesome ride from start to now. That all being said, I've seen this all before. I've been here in the IIW long enough to know what's going to happen next. I would love to sugarcoat it for everyone, but that's not my style. Red alert will most likely be our last show. I've seen it all before; I've been on the roster here more than once when we have closed. So, like farmers' insurance, I know a thing or 2 because I have seen a thing or 2. The writing is on the wall.
Jonny motions for the camera to pan to the other side of the room. When it does on the wall it's written THE IIW WILL CLOSE.
Jonny - Told you it was, I would never make that up. The interest is way down; we have no new guys starting out and getting people to come out and do promos is like pulling fucking teeth right now. Now part of that may fall onto my shoulders. We even dropped out of the top 10 on Netflix. EMBARRASSING. I'm the elder statesman in the locker room. I'm the one with the lifetime contract. I should have been the leader and made sure everyone was on point and ready. I should have been the one who keep interest up in IIW and I should have been out there bringing new faces to this company. I will admit I dropped the ball on that just a bit. That's me being hard on myself I know that. I'm a member of this roster and I love it here and its kills me to see whats happening. At the end of they day though I don't feel the blame is 100% on me alone.
Jonny removes his hand from the world title. He takes one last look than walks back to his recliner and sits down.
Jonny - There is one thing that I don't have that would make it my fault alone. That's the world fucking title. I can sit here and call myself the Face of this company till I'm blue in the face but the lack of world title around my waist will always show that I'm wrong on that. Now that being said the world title isn't what's most important to me in this match but having that world title makes me the top guy here officially. Now I'm sure most of you are well aware but maybe for the handful of people that are newer to wrestling the world championship is the highest prize in our sport. Being the world champion automatically makes you the face of whatever company you're the champion of regardless of how any one else sees it. Now I've stated me being a veteran I feel that I should have been a more ample locker room leader than I was. And I agree I probably should have I could have stepped my game up a little more than I did and that one's on me but I'm not alone in that. I shouldn't be the only one at fault here because as I stated and as it's painfully obvious to everyone I am not the world champion. Jake E Dangerously has been the world champion now since last January. Let's take a nice long hard look at how our fed has evolved in the past year. Well maybe saying it evolved is the wrong choice of words let's watch and find out how it's slowly died under the reign of terror known as Jake E Dangerously's title reign. Last January the IIW wrestling federation was firing on all cylinders. We had the greatest roster in wrestling history for a solid 4 or 5 months. The interest in our little company was through the roof it was amazing to see. Every single day it felt like we had new talent coming in to work, people were putting their promos up like wildfire and they were all amazing. We even managed to sign a Mega deal with Netflix and when we aired on there we immediately went to number one. Everything was going perfect and we couldn't miss that's when it all changed.
Jonny runs his hands through his hair. He sighs than takes another sip of his water.
Jonny - I was so proud to be a member of the IIW. I can't really say that right now because we are a shell of what we were a mere 6 months ago. And I feel the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of our world champion Jake E Dangerously. You're supposed to be the benchmark Jake, you're supposed to be the measuring stick that all other talent looks up to. When other talent looks up to what have they seen, well I feel they see a coward. They see someone who has been world champion for almost a full year that has barely defended the title or even wrestled. We had someone that was basically undefeated for 5 months and they had to beg for a title shot. They got that match and they lost Jake you out wrestled them and for that I applaud you but it should have never taken that long for Rogue to get his shot. Tyler Debonair went 8 matches without losing was he ever offered a title shot no. He still hasn't had one for those keeping score at home. So that's two newer talents here who have been held down but Bob and Jake. Who may you ask got that shot instead of Tyler who was rightfully deserving of it? A washed up want to be legend who didn't deserve to be standing in an IIW ring let alone across from a world champion. So basically a handpicked person that Bob Mitchell knew would loose. Jake you have been protected this entire title run for some reason I don't know if it's to pad your record or what but Bob Mitchell and you have been in cahoots. Oh im positive you eanted to bteqk your own record for lingest title reign. Jake you're the world champion man of what was at one point the most prominent wrestling federation in the entire world. You should have been a fighting champion, you should have been on every single show building feuds having the best matches but no you weren't honestly I feel like you've missed more shows than you've been a part of. Now I am a bit salty towards you Jake because you beat me for that world title you hold. Do I wish it was me that was holding the world championship for almost a year of course I do. Does that make me jealous of your title run Jake? No it does not. No one would be jealous of your title run, you have run and hidden from any real challenge since you beat me with my own finishing move.
Jonny adjusts his tie. His eyes narrow a bit.
Jonny - Not one single person that's deserving of a real shot at you has gotten one. I take that back you may have had 2 actual challenges but neither one of them pushed you anywhere near as much as I have. I don't know how you can look at yourself in the mirror and call yourself a real champion. You're not the Jake I came up with hell you're not even the Jake from last year. You are a sad excuse of what you used to be. You were one of the greatest of all time Jake I know it you know it and everyone that's ever watched professional wrestling knows it. I don't know where you came off the rails but you did. I don't know if you just think you're better than all of us so you don't need to try anymore. I don't know if you got in your own head and believe your own hype, maybe, maybe you're just tired of all this. For weeks I have been coming out here and calling you out. I've called you scared, I've called you a coward, I've called you the reason that IIW will be closing, hell I even called you a little bitch. Wait no I don't think I ever said that out loud but I'm doing it now Jake you're a Little Bitch. There is only one thing that will guarantee that the IIW returns after our Winter hiatus and that's me winning that title from you. Because if you keep that title you will just run it into the ground and no one will care anymore and the federation will close and everyone will be out of work because of you. I don't know what happened to you man it's a real shame to see someone that you respect fall so far from grace. Respect is a funny word to be honest. I don't respect you a person Jake, but I do respect you as an in ring talent. You are, well where one of the best. I don't know if you respect me at all and frankly I don't care but I do respect you Jake well at least I did respect you. Yeah this type of run you're on might be legendarily long but it's a joke. The length of your title run doesn't matter at all Jake if there's nothing from beginning till now that's worth remembering. People are going to see you as a transitional champion only because you never got challenged you never really wrestled hell we never even really see you anymore. You have done nothing of merit during your run outside of beating me for the title. It's Pathetic really man.
Jonny looks over his shoulder than out the window into his backyard. Than he laughs.
Jonny - I know we've done this whole song-and-dance before. It's Jonny C versus Jake E Dangerously probably the most done main event in the history of our company. I'm gonna go for the low hanging fruit here and I'm going to say the last time you had a legendary long title run I was the one that ended it. History is going to repeat itself yet again as I am going to end this title streak that you currently are on. There I said what needed to be said everyone knew I was gonna say it Jake you knew I was gonna say it so I said it and I got it out of the way. It's gonna be different this time though Jake I'm not gonna make any silly T shirts I'm not gonna ride a tank to the ring I'm not gonna be infamous Jonny C at least the Jonny C that you know. Don't worry I'm the same person but Beating you means more to me than anything. I'm gonna do something I haven't done in a really long time and that's take something and someone very seriously. I could come out here and talk about all The Times you've beaten me Jake and the handful of times that I've beaten you. I could say how I beat you for a world title then you beat me for a world title but that's all history everyone knows that story I don't need to rehash it again I did just that in January and look where got me. I feel I should have gotten an immediate rematch at the next pay per view because you needed my move to finish me not your own you tried that twice actually and it didn't work.
Jonny shakes his head and smiles.
Jonny - You know Jake I do find it incredibly amusing that you had to resort to using my finishing move to put me away. I was a little embarrassed at first I will admit. I absolutely hated that you beat me with my own move. But then I took a moment of reflection and realized by you having to beat me with my finishing move after using yours twice it proves that I have the far superior finishing move. That makes me absolutely giddy to know that my move is greater than yours and you couldn't beat me with your move. I'm no longer embarrassed that you needed to use my move to beat me in fact I'm honored that you needed to resort to that level to beat me. I had never been on the receiving end of my own move before and I have to say it was not an enjoyable experience. 0 out of 5 stars would not recommend. I know you better than you know yourself Jake just like I feel you know me better than I know myself. I'm sure you cried the Bob Mitchell about hand picking opponents for you making sure that there are people that you could beat and that would make yourself look good. I don't know that to be fact and it might be a story that I made up in my head but it could very well be true because your title run is laughable at best. When I end your title run I promise no I vow to be fighting champion, to take on all challenges big or small. I will be the champion that the IIW desperately needs. I love this company Jake apparently way more than you do. If you cut me I bleed the IIW colors and it makes me absolutely sick to see what you have single handily done to this company. You're the reason that our doors will close not mine. We are in desperate need of someone to step up grab the proverbial brass ring and save this company. We need someone that lives and breathes IIW to step up and there's no one more suited for that call to action than me. Just look at me Jake I'm Mr Fucking IIW for God sake.
Jonny smiles than laughs a bit. Than looks directly into the camera with a serious look on his face.
Jonny - You are an overly cocky self absorbed loser. You are a sad weak pathetic miserable person. That's just who you are as a person Jake we can all see through you. You insecure little pissant. I'm not saying I don't respect your in ring ability because I definitely do I've stated that many times today and in the past. What I'm saying is I've never met anyone who if anyone who even remotely likes you as a person. Now this is coming from me someone who chose to have the nickname infamous. I never set out to have a good reputation I wanted to be that dastardly bad guy that everyone hated but God damn it people love me. Part of me understands that look at me I'm adorable as hell and insanely lovable but that's not what I set out to do. You on the other hand it's not gimmick related or a work, people just genuinely do not like you as a person. I know you're going to say you really don't care if people love you or hate, you're better than me, you've beaten me a bunch of times blah blah blah yeah Jake we've heard it all before. But deep down I know you're a lonely son of a bitch and I know it bothers you. You can put on a strong cool guy front but I see through it. So go right ahead and play Mr. Cool guy with the I don't care attitude and say that it doesn't bother you that no one likes you but I know deep down just how sad and alone you really are. You always have to walk around and look like the king of the mountain, A number one because without that you have nothing in your life to be proud of. That's the biggest difference between you and me I want to be the world champion to show everyone that I'm the best, you need that world championship to prove to yourself that you're not a complete loser.
Jonny grabs his glass of water and finishes it. He places the now empty glass back onto the table next to his chair.
Jonny - I've had amazing feuds this year, amazing matches, I'm on almost every show what have you done of note this last year aside from beating me? NOTHING THATS WHAT. Another example of how I am better than you Jake. I didn't need the title to have an amazing and memorable year. You needed the title to justify your year because you've done nothing with it. You walk around spewing out facts like you're always correct. You have this air about you that makes you think you're better than everyone else but the fact of the matter is you're not Jake. You're not better than anyone you got lucky a few times OK that's great good for you. You may have beaten me a few times but that doesn't mean you're better than me Jake. All that means is I let you get in my head and it took me off my game. I hate to admit it but you live in my head rent free. You have for years now and that's something I've never openly admitted before. You are the Yin to my yang man and that's the long and short of it. If they were to remake the movie the wrestler in 20 years there's a very good chance you and I are the 2 really old wrestlers trying to relieve glory days by having a main event one more time. I wake up in the morning and I think about the loss to you. I go to bed at night and I have nightmares about the loss to you. I have to beat you Jake because if I don't then everything I've built to this whole year has been for nothing. Yes I want to be the world champion in a big bad way every single person knows that. Why would you get into the sport if becoming the world champion wasn't your end goal. But this match at Red Alert means a lot more to me than just that world title. Beating you Jake is number one on my list world title or not I wanna beat you. It is pretty crazy to me that pinning you in the center of that ring means more to me than becoming the world champion.
Jonny smiles
Jonny - I guess at the end of the day it shouldn't be overly surprising seeing the long history we have together. I've been a champion more than once and I will be a champion again that's just something I know for a fact. What means way more to me is beating you Jake because last time I was in a big match situation I shit the bed. I won't let that happen again not after the year we've all had. I've been in many of the big matches here granted not many of them came out with me on top but I was involved and I kept myself involved. Big match Jonny It's what I like to refer to myself as but I need to make sure I can be big match winning Jonny that's what's been missing this whole year. I've been looking at our match at Red Alert Jake from every different angle and I've fully broken it down many many times these are my accurate predictions and breakdowns and percentages for what's going to happen.
Jonny reaches into the breast pocket of his suit pulling out a folded peice of paper. He unfolds it clearing his throat. He begins to read.
Jonny - You know they say that all men are created equal, but you look at me and you look at Jake E Dangerously and you can see that statement is not true. Jake may think he is the superior wrestler because he has beaten me a few times but we all know thats just not true. Normally if you go one on one with another wrestler, you got a 50/50 chance of winning. But I'm Infamous Jonny C and I'm not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at beating me. And then you add the World title and a PPV to the mix. Your chances of winning drastically go down. See in the title match we have at Red Alert you got a 33 and a third chance of winning. But I got a 66 and two thirds chance of winning, cause Jake KNOOOWS he can't beat me again. JAKE KNOWS after that disastrous title run of his he is a different man now, and not in a good way. So Jake, you take your thirty three and a third chance minus my twenty five percent chance and you got an eight and a third chance of winning at Red Alert. But then you take my 75 perchance-chance of winning, and then add 66 and two third percent, I got a 141 2/3 chance of winning at Red Alert Jake The numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Red Alert!
Jonny refolds the paper placing it back into his pocket.
Jonny - It's just that simple Jake. All you need to do is simple math. You may see yourself as calculated but to me this is as easy as painting by numbers man. I have grown this last year. I had some drop down drag out matches and I'm fully fucking ready to come at you head on and not let up till my arm is raised. This time you're going to need to kill me to beat me. I need to become the one to make sure the IIW doesn't close. I need to be the savior of this place and I promise you I will be. You have killed the IIW and I will breathe new life into it. A wise man once said.
Jonny stands up than walks to a closet. He opens the door and pulls out a guitar. He throws the strap over his shoulder than begins to play.
Well, I won't back down No, I won't back down You can stand me up at the gates of hell But I won't back down
No, I'll stand my ground Won't be turned around And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down (I won't back down) Hey, baby, there ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey, I will stand my ground And I won't back down Well I know what's right I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around But I'll stand my ground And I won't back down (I won't back down)
Hey, baby, there ain't no easy way out (I won't back down) Hey, I will stand my ground And I won't back down
Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out (I won't back down) Hey, I won't back down (I won't back down) Hey, baby, there ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Jonny removes the guitar than places it back into the closet.
Jonny - I feel every promo should have a random song in it. When you got talent like I do sometimes you just have to show it all off. That song wasn't to just show off my range though. It was to show my mind set. I won't fucking back down, I will never give up, and I will never quit. Jake I know you're ready for Red Alert and that makes me happy. I know it won't be easy and I will have to dig deep to do it. I will beat you Jake, I will take that title from you. Red Alert is less than 2 weeks away now. There is no turning back once again we are destined to collide. I'm ready Jake, history will repeat itself again like it did 14 years ago.
Jonny walks back over to his leather recliner. He lossens his tie as he is sitting down and the scene fades to black.

It's the big gold. The biggest there is. Not in physical size mind you, but rather by importance. It's the IIW World Heavyweight Championship, and for the last 257 days it has been the sole property of the man sitting with it laid out in front of him, Jake E Dangerously. “You know, when we got into all back in February I didn't think it would go this long or get this far. I knew as soon as this title was placed on the line that it would be mine again, but even I didn't think I'd still be sitting here in December with it.”
Dangerously sits back and exposes the simple white IIW logo on his black t-shirt. He runs his hands down the thighs of his faded jeans and lets out a long breath before he continues. “I find it pretty funny that a certain someone still can concoct his own little fantasy realm to live in even when there are some gigantic holes in his narrative, but then again obviously making shit up has always been one of Jonny C's strongest points.”
“After all, for the past few months he's been on this whole trip about me getting soft, hand chosen opponents, and why exactly? Probably because his old pal, his best frenemy Osh Vaughan hasn't been the one picking them. But then... He did pick his nephew Jay, Jonny C's own admitted best friend, who has disappeared off the face of the earth since he failed to take this from me.”
He taps the big stacked golden faceplate of the IIW World Championship.
“You'd be crazy to think that wasn't a running theme.”
“See, Jonny says he's proud of everything he's done. He's proud of losing to me in March, he's proud of taking his ball and going home for a while. He's proud of struggling to get by a rookie, only to have that rookie knock him off a cage and help his team lose and totally change the course of this company.”
“A change I might add that got us both benched. But while Jonny cries the blues because it's his only coping mechanism, I kept going. See Jonny got stuck on the sidelines and complained he got benched, but he sees me at the other end of that bench and says I'm getting preferential treatment. Delusions have always been your strong suit, Jonny.”
“See while you were trying to hard to get a monkey called Bam Miller off your back I was successfully defending my title against everyone they could dig up to put in the ring against me.”
We get another good look of the title that has called Jake E Dangerously's waist home since he defeated Jonny C at KKND. Since IIW reopened the title has been emblazoned with Dangerously's name and his alone. “When you were struggling to deal with Bam Miller I was defending my title against Scotty Adams. He hasn't been the same since. While you were having the 'feud of the year', I was retiring Donny Allen for good. When you were sitting on the sidelines I was beating both of the guys that were the handpicked chosen ones to replace us at the same time.”
“You go ahead and tell your own version of events Jonny if that's what helps you cope with your hatred of me, but that's the honest truth of it. Jay Vaughan and Blade Alexander were both hand picked by Bob Mitchell and Osh Vaughan to replace us. You and I have, for years, been the foundation that has held up IIW and by extension the entire professional wrestling industry. For decades we've been well ahead of anyone next in line to try to take our places, and while you showed cracks, I stood firm.”
“I beat you and it shook you to your core. You’ve spent months off at a time and struggled to get past one opponent. The old Jonny C would have shrugged off Bam after the first time you faced him, but that Jonny was damaged goods and you know the reason why.”
“Me.” “It had been some time since we faced each other Jon, and you had built up in your mind that things would be different this time. It was a World title match, you had been travelling and getting better while I had been off for a while. You had the upper hand and you were going to come out onto top, but then this happened.”
He smirks and picks up his championship belt and points to his name on it. “Even after all of that nothing had changed. And to add insult to injury I even beat you with your own move. That shook your confidence to the core and for the first time in your career, Jonny, you felt what it's like for every single other human being that steps into my ring with me. You felt the crushing despair of just how far away from being the best you really are.”
“But congratulations to you Jonny...”
He slow claps for the opponent he's probably faced the most throughout his entire career. “You bounced back. In typical Jonny style you created this delusion of the truth to explain things away in your head to help you heal mentally and get back to the form you think you had in the ring.”
“You created this narrative that I was being protected. I just HAD to be facing weak opponents, right? Because that's the only way it would work out. In all this time, the only opponent anyone remembers you facing is Bam Miller. You won some, you lost some, you got embarrassed a LOT, and to deal with that embarrassment you hype it up in your own head as 'feud of the year', and why? So you don't have to deal with the reality that the great and mighty Jonny C has been COMPLETELY overshadowed by your own son. It sickens you deep inside that Curtis has become a beloved beacon of positivity while you have wallowed in near obscurity.”
“Meanwhile on the other side of the card I've been as dominant as anyone ever has. Every time I step in that ring I get the best every single opponent, you included, has ever been in their career. And every time I walk away with a win whoever was across the ring from me ends up ruined. Look at poor Scotty Adams, for a minute there people thought he might end my reign before it got started, but here we are in December now and he's just getting back that form that he lost back in May.”
“They put me up against their golden children and I proved they weren't ready. They were so unprepared Jay's never been heard from again and Blade got himself hung by his manager. The Dream Killer took a shot and realized he was more than a decade to late to kill my dreams and he fell off the face of the earth. They bought an entire company just to get John Cavanagh in the ring with me, this guy who made a career out of beating the best and destroying feds and I shut his fucking mouth.” “And that's just the ones who actually made it to the ring. That doesn't count the locker room cowboys, the weekend warriors, the social media shitheads who talk a big game but when faced with a contract with a dotted line to write their names on got cold feet in a big hurry. Anthony Phoenix for example. Since day funking ONE in IIW that waste of talent has had an open contract to face me anywhere any time, and since I won it, face me for the IIW World Championship, but does he do it? Does he jot his name down and take his shot? No. He comes up with stupid, ridiculous hashtags to hide his fear behind. He talks a big game but that all he's ever been and all he ever will be, talk. And he's the best of the bunch. Dan Distoner had the audacity to walk up to me in the back a few weeks before Up in Smoke and DEMAND the first title shot after because he thought that making up his own title and doing absolutely nothing of note was worth a title shot and I told him fine, so what did he do? He retired, because retirement was a better option to him than actually following up and getting into the ring with me.”
“But it doesn't stop there. Remember Rogue? I know, few do, but that guy thought it was his destiny to face me and end my title reign. You want to look at a guy who was protected, look no further than him Jonny. Facing the weakest, the easiest, often guys in their first or only match in IIW to build himself up a nice little undefeated streak and inflate his confidence well beyond it's natural state, and what happened? At his first real challenge at all he took his ball and he ran. It's what he was best at. He ran his mouth, and he ran away. Win lose or draw I was going to face him right after facing Ryan Hawkins, but by that time he quit, he couldn't even last long enough to have the match he called his destiny.”
“So you take a good look at it Jonny, you take a good look at this...”
He displays his title once again for the camera. “There is some protection going on here. But I'm not the protected one getting hand picked opponents. I'm not being protected from them Jonny, they're being protected from ME.”
“I've never been a hard man to find, but as delusional and as stupid as you are Jonny, in all the years we've been doing this, you've been the only one to ever have the balls to do it. You see what I do to opponents and you shrug it off and good for you Jonny, if you didn't I'd have half as many matches as I do now because everyone else is simply too scared to step in the ring with me.”
“And that's always been our story Jonny. You built yourself up over the years as someone who keeps working night in and night out to prove yourself as the best, you face an obstacle and you bang your thick head against it until you finally knock it down. You face any and all to build yourself up as the best.”
“I, on the other hand, am the best. I have to sit and wait until someone as unique as you, with that rare combination of talented and delusional enough to actually step in the ring with me and try to prove me different. There used to be a time when there were a lot more people in this business who tried to step in the ring and prove me wrong, but I survived each and every one of them. All of those who came before and claimed to the best until they faced me and met their better, only to wither and fade in my shadow have left me here alone. When we faced off back in March even I didn't see this outcome. I thought there was enough of a new generation of talent to dismiss what I was doing to their peers to have a steady stream of opponents to prove myself as the best all over again.”
“But I was wrong.” “And instead of getting into the ring on every Mayhem like I had intended, there's no one to stand across from me. There's no other face to look at in the opposite corner and challenge my claims of being the best, so while you get in the ring on Mayhem and bang your head against another rock because no one fears the name Jonny C like they do Jake E Dangerously, or you talk your talk knowing you're safe and sound because I'm not in the building. I'm doing another spot on the Graham Norton Show or some other 'appearance' because there's no one left to stand in the opposite corner and challenge me.”
“Except you.”
“Its the only appropriate ending you and I and IIW could ever come to. Is it the end? Of a sorts, yes. It's the end of the year. The last IIW show of 2021 for certain. Is it the last every? Time will tell but I think we both know how that will play out. We've both been around long enough to know what's up. The company is taking a month off, is it to recharge and bring in some new names? Or is it time we all shake hands and go our separate ways again. Maybe we'll meet again down the line. We've been doing this for 14 years.”
He lays the IIW World Title out in front of him on the small table again. “I'd like to say this will be the greatest match we've had yet, but after the past year we both know that's not true. This past year has been a drain. On the world with everything that's gone on, and on you and your slipping mental state. For me it's been the long lonely grind at the top, but that's the white knuckle ride I'm used to.”
“Meanwhile while telling yourself you're the best you've struggled to overcome one guy all year and through sheer dim-witted survival you've found yourself back before me. And how do you face that challenge? Steiner math and off key Tom Petty covers. It's been 14 years between us Jonny and your dumb-ass promos still make me laugh because after all this you're still the only other guy who cares.”
“You talked about this being the end, well here's a shocking revelation for you Jonny, every match since I won this title I've looked at as my last. I came back to stoke the ember of IIW back into a roaring fire, which I did and I managed to keep this title so long that I watched both of IIW's marquee players get benched and that roaring fire burn down to it's last glowing coals.”
“I knew even before I came back that my legacy was cemented and I didn't have anything else to prove, but I came back and proved it anyway. I proved it was so cemented that there is an entire generation so overwhelmed by the legacy I've built, that you are a small part of Jonny, that what I've built is so daunting that no one is left to challenge it.”
“That's why I've looked at each title defence as my last. Each time I got in the ring and put this belt on the line I told myself when I lost it I was done. Whoever took this title could have it and walk off into the sunset with it, rule the new world, or whatever their hearts desired.”
“But instead it's come to this. No one could take my title. No one could end my career without knowing it. So I'm ending it here on my own terms. Win lose or draw after Red Alert I'm done. I've written my story and proven myself at the top when all those who care to discuss who the greatest of all time is. It's me. I know that burns you with how hard you've worked but you and I both know I'm the best that's ever stepped inside the ring.” “The best you can hope for now is maintaining the legacy of the IIW World Champion. You have to overcome something that hasn't happened in 14 years and prove that you can be better than me in a championship match, and who better really, you're the last person to ever do it, at Red Alert you have the ultimate opportunity to be THE last person to ever beat me in a championship match OR you will have the ultimate indignity of living with the legacy that YOU deserve to be left with, the knowledge that you're not the greatest. I know you and I know you'll tell yourself you are, but everyone, from the fans down to even you in the back of your mind will always know you're not the best, you're just the best of what's left.”
“I'm leaving Jonny, and I'm taking my title with me. We both know you and what will happen. If it's in January or later Osh will come wave that lifetime contract in your face and you'll coming running after like the good little lap dog you are and with me out of the way you'll have a clear shot at winning the IIW title, but you and everyone else will know you're just the guy standing in the place someone else will always be associated with. I'm walking out Jonny because there's no one but you left in this business willing to test how good they are against me, and in a way Jonny you've already won. You are the best of what's left. You're the last worthy contender because you're the last delusional idiot willing to get into a fight you know you'll never win. But we're still going to have the fight Jonny, and you get to see one last time that it is the one fight you'll never win.”
Fade.

The scene opens to a packed theater. The curtain opens revealing a red very regal looking chair. There is a stack of beautifully wrapped gifts on the left side along with an immaculately decorated Christmas tree on the right. Next to the gifts is a round end table with a glass of milk, some gingerbread cookies and a pipe. On the red plush chair sits a large leather bound book. Off to the far side there is a set of risers. Jonny C walks onto the stage and the theater stands clapping. He is wearing a red smoking jacket with a red Santa hat and green pants. He also has elf shoes that curl up in the front with little bells on them. He walks over to the chair picks up the book then sits down. He clears his throat.
Jonny - Welcome everyone to the Infamous Jonny C Christmas Spectacular. I know what everyone is thinking "Jonny you have a huge title match coming up vs Jake at Red Alert what the hell are you doing?" I'm spreading good tidings and cheer that's what. I can take some time out of my rigorous training to celebrate the greatest holiday of all time. I'm ready to pin Jake at Red Alert and take his title. It's the season of giving after all and I'm handing out PPV loses. OK, is everyone ready for our first act?
The audience claps.
Jonny - Ladies and Gentlemen it's my honor and privilege to introduce London's own Hackney Children's Choir.
A group of children dressed in matching Christmas sweaters walks onto the stage filling the risers.
Choir - It’s the most wonderful time of the year With World titles for winning And fans telling you be of good cheer It’s the most wonderful time of the year
It’s the hap-happiest season of all With those finishing moves and pin fall attempts When Jake comes to call It’s the hap-happiest season of all
There'll be people for DDTing Titles for winning And FN Points out in the snow There'll be scary near finishes And tales of the glories of Pay per veiws long, long ago.
The cowred stands up clapping for the choir. Jonny is smiling sitting in his large comfortable red Santa chair.
Jonny - Do you guys want one more song from these insaley talented young kids.
The audience begins to chant ONE MORE SONG…..ONE MORE SONG.
Jonny - Seems the people have spoken and that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Reguardless the kids where going to sing one more some anyway but it's fantastic the you guys are excited to hear it. OK kids how about that new version of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer we practiced? HA HA you guys are going to love this. Take it away kids.
Choir - Jake E the piss poor champion Had a very shitty reign And if you ever saw it You would even say it blows All of the other wrestlers Now like to laugh and call him names They never let poor Jake E Join in any wrestler games Then one PPV Red Alert Jonny C came to say "Jake E, with your shit title run Time for things to change tonight" Then Jonny C pinned him As they shouted out with glee "Jake E the piss poor champion You'll go down in history"
Jonny - As the single worst champion in the history of this great sport. There is no one who has done less than you have as a world champion. You should be embarrassed of thay so called title run. Shit im embaressed for you. You worthless peice of trash.
The audience go nuts.
Jonny - That's not nice. I'm sorry I got away from myself for a minute. That's no way to act around Christmas. Kids that was wonderful. Thank you so much for that. Everyone give them a hand.
Jonny stands up clapping for the Hackney Children's Choir. He walks over to them saying something than high fiving them all. He walks back to the chair taking a seat as the choir leaves the stage.
Jonny - How amazing are those kids. I wish I had half as much talent as they did when I was their age. I would like to formally welcome everyone here to my Christmas spectacular. I love the Christmas season like most people and wanted to do something special for it. Netflix felt the same way and agreed to air my special. This is a huge deal. I'm the first wrestler from IIW to get a solo project aired on Netflix. I mean of course it's me that gets it we all understand why but it's still a huge deal.
Jonny picks up the glass of milk while taking a sip.
Jonny - It's the season of giving as we all know. I plan on giving Jake the match of his life at Red Alert. I also plan on the IIW giving me the world title after I gift Jake an L at Red Alert. I love this time of year and our big match at the PPV has me so much much more excited for this Christmas season. This will truly be the happiest time of the year for me. I'm going to finally win the world championship again, taking it back home where it belongs. I'm going to take that title and save the IIW from this deep dark hole Jake has dug us into. To me it seems the longer Jake is champion the closer and closer we get to closing. I'm not the only one who feels that way either. I have had many people come up to me and express great fear and a surprising amount of anger at the favoritism Jake is shown by Bob and the IIW. It was a lot of people, I guess everyone knows I don't like Jake and want me to know they don't either. Everyone is concerned about us closing because Jake is an abysmal champion. I have heard him referred to as the worst world champion of all time. I didn't say that but I must say I agree with it.
Jonny grabs a gingerbread man off the table. The gingerbread man is wearing a Jake E Dangerously shirt. Jonny bites the head off than places it back on the plate. He opens the book, clearing his throat.
Jonny - 'Twas the week before Red Alert and all through the fed Every wrestler was scared, even Jake E The tights were all hung by the locker room with care In the hopes that Red Alert soon would be there The fans were nestled all snug in their seats While visions of suplexes danced in their heads. Bob in his off and Osh in his also Had just settled down for a long pre show argument. When out in the ring there arose such a clatter They sprang from the office to see what was the matter Away to the ring they flew with a flash Tore open the curtain and pushed threw out the staff The arena lights on the breast a of the new ring skirt Gave a beautiful shine to all objects below. When what to their wondering eyes should appear But a miniature tank and eight tiny reindeer With a sexy old driver so lively and quick They knew in a moment, it must be St Dick. More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came And he whistled and he shouted and he called them by name "On Phoenix, on Tyler, on Cavanaugh and Solace On Osh, on Bob, on Archers and Bam! To the top rope of the ring, to the top of the arena. So up to the top rope luchadors they flew With a tank full of toys and Jonny C to. And then in a twinkling, they heard in the ring The prancing, the pawing of each move hit As they drew their heads and where turning around Down the ramp Jonny C came with a bound He was dressed all in fur from his head to his foot And his gear was all polished looking brand new A bundle of weapons he had flung on his back And he looked like a champion just missing his belt. His eyes, how they narrowed, his demeanor how scary His droll little mouth was smiling wide And the beard on his chin was shaved close He had a stern face and a walk with a swagger He was chiseled and pumped, very ready for battle And they laughed when they saw him in spite of themselves. A wink of his eye and a twist of his head Soon gave them to know Jake had everything to dread He spoke all the words and looked ready for action. And jumped into the ring to the fans satisfaction. And laying a finger to the ramp meant for Jake And giving a nod up to the fans He sprang to the top rope, and to his arms held out wide But they heard him exclaim as he stoop on the rope. That title is mine Jake you have no hope.
Jonny closes the book than places it on his lap.
Jonny - That's not 100% the story you guys all remember. I re did the words a bit to fit my situation. As everyone knows already Red Alert is next week. Jake and I will go one on one yet again for the IIW World title. Yadda Yadda you guys know the story. I love that we are doing it this close to Christmas. It warms my heart knowing that I will be able to sit across from that title and have a delightful holiday meal. They say you must surround yourself with the ones you love at the holidays. That's why the world title will be right with me. Family comes second, thats how much this title means to me.
Jonny stands up walking to the front of the stage.
Jonny - As I said before this the season of giving so everyone please look under your seats. There is something down there.
The audience all grabs wrapped little boxes that were tapped to the seats. They tear them open pulling out keys. They are all looking at Jonny confused. Jonny points at someone in the front row.
Jonny - YOU GET A TANK
Jonny points to someone else in the crowd.
Jonny - YOU GET A TANK
Jonny points high to the people all the way in the back of the theater.
Jonny - YOU GET A TANK…...EVERYONE GETS A TANKKKKKKKK.
The audience goes nuts. They are app jumping up and down waving the keys in the air like maniacs.
Jonny - Yes every tank that was just given out will come with 2 complementary Fuck Jake E bumper stickers. Well that's almost all the time we have tonight. I'm so glad you all came out to see me tonight. Without you guys none of this would be possible. You know what let's do one more some shall we. Kids get back out here.
The Hackney children's choir walk back out onto the stage taking their place on the risers. Jonny turns holding his arm up than he begins conducting them.
Choir - JINGLE BELLS
JAKE E SMELLS
AND I HOPE HE DIES
HE'LL GO TO HELL
WHERE HE'LL FRY
AND JONNY WILL BE THE GUY.
Jonny turns back to the crowd laughing uncontrollably as he begins waving goodbye. The audience is giving Jonny a standing ovation and throwing roses onto the stage. Jonny is mouthing thank you and holding his hands over his heart. He begins to bow as the screen fades to black.

The scene opens to the Busted Open radio network inside the SiriusXM building in New York. Host Dave LaGreca is sitting behind a huge radio control panel with headphones on, Jonny C is sitting on the studio couch also wearing headphones.
Dave - Ladies and gentlemen we have a special guest on Busted Open today. Infamous Jonny C is here today just a few days out from his huge world title match vs Jake E Dangerously at IIWs Red Alert PPV. Jonny, welcome to the show.
Jonny - Thanks Dave, happy to be here. I listen to your show everyday man. I was kind of hoping Bully Ray or Mark Henry would be here today with you but that's OK I'm so happy to be here man thanks for inviting me.
Dave - Wow that's awesome. I figured you would have a whole bunch to talk about. I knew I had a lot of questions to go over with you and ask you so I figured a 1 on 1 interview was better than having multiple people in here. I'm so glad you were able to find some time to stop by for a chat today.
Jonny - It's my pleasure Dave. My flight out of JFK isn't until 10 o'clock this evening so I had a lot of time to kill today so I decided to hang out in New York. I want to check out the wax museum, the empire state building and come visit you guys and be on my favorite Sirius xm radio show.
Dave - That's very convenient for us isn't it. Well let's get right into it shall we. You vs Jake yet again for the world title. How do you feel?
Jonny - I feel amazing Dave. I'm excited to have one more shot at Jake man. I came up short last January and that has haunted me every day since then. I'm better than that and I know I can beat him. I let myself down and that's not something I like to do so I'm going to take this opportunity to make that loss from last January right.
Dave - That last match at Krush Kill and Destroy was an instant classic. From the moment the bell rang you guys beat the hell out of each other. It was non stop action the whole time.
Jonny - That's the thing with Jake and I. We have wrestled more times than I can remember. We know each other really well in and out of the ring. Every time we lock up it's going to be a can't miss match. I may talk a lot of shit about Jake as a person but dude can go in the ring and no one can ever say otherwise. Again I don't like him as a person. I need that to be stated at least once, maybe 10 times in any one of my promos. I respect him as a wrestler but not as a person. That's it plain and simple. And I plan on ending him at Red Alert.
Dave - You both can go like no one else. There is a very good reason why the 2 of you hold the most main events in IIW history. Now about that match last January I would like to discuss it just a little bit. He hit you with 2 Dangerous Liaisons and it wasn't enough to put you away.
Jonny - Unfortunately I am very well acquainted with that move so I feel I may be getting a bit numb to it. I have taken many Dangerous Liaisons over the years Dave. It will take more than that to put me away. Maybe because I've taken so many, my pain tolerance for that move has gone down to almost nothing. I feel like I don't even feel them any more at this point.
Dave - That it did for sure. Jake dug deep and pulled out your move the F'n Point and that did the trick.
Jonny - That was an unpleasant experience to say the least. I remember as soon as he lifted me up for it I thought to myself "Oh Fuck me." I have been using that move for almost 25 years now and have never had it used on me. It's definitely devastating to say the least. Smart move on Jake's part as well I will have to admit. It makes his move look weak and mine look amazing but it was smart of him to use mine on me.
Dave - That's a very interesting take on things Jonny.
Jonny - It's the only take Dave. He used his move not once but twice and it didn't finish me. He used the F'n point once and I was done. There is no other way to see it other than The F'n Point being stronger than Dangerous Liaison. Look was I embarrassed that night that he mocked me by using my finishing move. Even more I was pissed off because I felt that he was trying to bury me. Then I had some time to sit back and reevaluate the match and saw it for what it really was. He couldn't beat me and needed to find a way and took a shot it the dark and it worked for it. That shit won't happen again though I promise you that.
Dave - Yeah I saw you say this time would be different. You made claims to take Jake seriously this time. I find that claim to be bold to be honest. You took Jake to the limit at KKND. To me it would look like you took him very seriously.
Jonny - I always take Jake seriously to an extent. What I mean is last time I was concerned with my entrance. You know how hard it is to coordinate a helicopter to hover over the arena so someone can repel down into a tank then drive said tank to the ring and fire it.
Dave - No I can honestly say I don't.
Jonny - It's a lot man. A ton of permits and phone calls to make sure everything is lined up and everyone knows their roles to play. Then I made a bunch of silly shirts to sell mocking Jake. I did a lot of crap that wasn't really necessary. I went in very cocky and full of myself.
Dave - I can see that.
Jonny - This time though I'm more focused on Jake and the match. I'm not doing an extreme entrance or making shirts and I left my tank at home this time.
Dave - It's funny you say all that then went and did the Jonny C Christmas Spectacular. Can you elaborate on that?
Jonny - HA that was for fun. I had that planned and tickets sold for it well before I knew about this match. So I just altered the event a bit to make it work vs Jake. I love Christmas and making people laugh. I wanted to make sure everyone left that show happy. I did realize that maybe it would be contradictory to what I said in my promo a few day prior. Hell I'm Jonny C and some could make the argument that the C stands for contradiction, and they may be right. The Christmas spectacular was a big deal so I couldn't cancel it. Netflix got involved and it got way bigger than I ever imagined so I had to just run with it. I'm glad I did though it was a fantastic event.
Dave - It was a great event. I still can't believe you gave everyone tanks. That's absolutely insane.
Jonny - My accountant said the same thing. He wasn't too happy with me on that one. He should be used to me doing outlandish shit though. This is far from the first time that I spent an exorbitant amount of money on ridiculous things. I live my life like a 12 year old who has unlimited money. You should see my game room.
Dave - I would imagine not. Now I want to ask about some of the things Jake said in his last promo.
Jonny - I will be honest with you here Dave. I haven't watched his promos.
Dave - WHAT?
Jonny - Not even one second of them. There are a few reasons for that. The main being last time we met I got wrapped up in what Jake was saying about me. I spent way too much time worrying what he would say or how he would respond to what I said. I let that take me off my game. I over thought everything and it took my head right out of the game.
Dave - Wow I can't believe you haven't watched his stuff, but I can kind of see your point.
Jonny - I also feel I don't need to watch them. I know exactly what Jake is going to say about me. We have done this many times in the past. Jake isn't known as an overly original person. He says the same shit over and over and I let it get to me in the past. He is going to say he is better than me. He is going to say I failed in January and will fail again. Blah blah blah we have all heard it before and I'm sure we will again. I don't need to watch them to know what they are about, you know.
Dave - I do know and you're not too far off. He did address your comments on his title run. He says that he isn't needed to be on all the shows because he is so good no one warrants him to show up.
Jonny - HORSE SHIT DAVE. He can make all the outlandish claims that he wants but I see through them. He is scared of losing the title. He needs that title to justify who he is in the IIW. If he didn't have that title he wouldn't be a goddamn thing and he knows it. The only reason anyone even remotely wants to work with him is because of the title. No one here likes him, he is tolerated because of that title he holds. It's really funny to him that he claims no one here warrants a shot at his title. Here is a fun fact. You know why our fed isn't attracting new talent. Becasue our fucking champion isn't ever here. You know why our ratings are dropping. Because our champion is scared of a real fight. If there is no end goal for people they won't be invested in our product. I'm just going to come out and say it. Jake E Dangerously is the weakest part of IIW and everyone knows it.
Dave - Damn Jonny that's a bold claim.
Jonny - It's the truth Dave. What the hell has Jake done this year aside from dodging matches. NOT A GODDAMN THING. Nobody even cares if he is on the show anymore outside of me that is.
Dave - Funny you say that. Jake said you spent the whole year getting over the loss to him.
Jonny - No shit Jake. I lost a title match VS you why would I settle for anything less than another title match. Of course I spent the year trying to get back into the ring with Jake. What kind of wrestler would I be if I didn't. What did he think I was going to do? Oh well I lost the world title match guess I will just settle for the 24/7 hardcore title. That's the stupidest shit I have ever heard. I would have spent 5 damn years trying to get back into the right with Jake. I am a competitor looking for the biggest and best challenges. Unlike Jake I want to wrestle every week. Unlike Jake I still love this sport and want to be the best. Unlike Jake, when I am the World Champion I will be a fighting one. I will be on every show and take on everyone that wants a shot. BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT A LEADER DOES. There is no way I would ever be a paper champion like Jake. See this is exactly why I chose not to watch Jake's shit. It's not worth my time if that's the crap he is going to put out.
Dave - Seems to have struck a nerve with that one.
Jonny - It did. That's such an asinine thing to say about me. Oh you spent a year trying to get over the loss to me. Why wouldn't I Jake you're the damn champion. Everyone should spend every year trying to get into the ring with you. It's not like that's coming as a surprise.
Dave - That's true. You have said though this is about more than the title though. It's about the man that is Jake E Dangerously.
Jonny - Let's get one this very clear first. I absolutely want to be the IIW World champion. It's been my goal since the moment I lost it last time. That being said, Jonny C vs Jake E Dangerously is bigger than just a world title match. I would hold the same excitement and intensity without the match being for the title. Frankly the 2 of us are a main event anywhere in the world title or not. I want to beat Jake, something I haven't done in a really long time. It eats at me more than I have ever admitted. Beating Jake means more to me than then any world title ever will. Do I want the title fuck yeah, but I want to beat Jake. He has been able to hold those wins over my head for years. I've had no rebuttal to that. Sure I always say this time it's different. I say my time is now, I say I have trained harder than ever before. But I always come up short. Every single time I almost get the win then Jake catches me out of nowhere and beats me. Will this match be different, only time will tell but I sure fucking hope so.
Dave - Jake claims you're the only one who even cares about Jake vs Jonny at this point.
Jonny - That's because he has no friends. He doesn't talk to anyone. He has removed himself from the locker room so far that he no longer even knows how it works. I am a man of the people. I talk to and know everyone in the locker room. Love me or hate me they all respect me and what I have done here in IIW. Every person I have talked to is excited for Jake vs Jonny one more time. He can sit there and down play the magnitude of our match all he wants but the show is sold out and that's because we are on top. Why would Bob Mitchell book the match again if no one else really cared about it. Trust me right now Bob isn't doing anything to make me feel good.
Dave - So you don't know then.
Jonny - I'm sure I don't. But what don't I know?
Dave - Jake came out and said this is his last match win, lose or draw.
Jonny's eyes go wide. He pauses for a minute staring at Dave without saying a word.
Jonny - Wow. That's…….That's huge. I mean I don't like Jake at all but I can't imagine an IIW without Jake and Jonny both on the roster. That's just mind blowing news. I'm speechless by that news and as we all know that never happens.
Dave - Does this up the stakes for the match a bit more than?
Jonny - Absolutely it does.
Dave - How so?
Jonny - This is it for him man. The last dance so to speak. Man could you imagine he caps his whole career off with a loss to me. Man that would be absolutely fantastic wouldn't it. We have been doing this dance for 14 fucking years Dave. I guess I never sat back and thought about what would happen when one of us hung it up. I now have the chance to retire Jake.
Dave - Well he said he is leaving on his own terms so technically you beating him wouldn't be you retiring him.
Jonny - If I beat Jake at Red Alert the whole story of the match will be he lost his final match to me. No one will remember anything else about the match other than that. I want more than anything to send Jake packing without that title and knowing when it mattered most Jonny C bested him in that ring. Dave this is monster news. Nothing else we have done on the past means anything now. Put yourself in Jake's shoes for 1 second Dave please. Now imagine Jake has had a historically amazing career. One of the best the wrestling world has ever seen. Now none of that can be disputed even by me. All of that calculates to one match against me at red alert for the world title. Obviously Jake wants to go out on top who wouldn't. Imagine everything he's done and his entire career comes to a screeching halt when I hit the effin point and pin him clean in the middle of that ring. Something tells me Jake would not be able to live with that and would not be able to retire on a loss to me. Personally I feel the only way he fully walks away from the sport is as if he beats me at redlert. This win, lose or draw bullshit means nothing he won't walk away on a loss especially a loss to me.
Dave - I'm just telling you what he said Jonny. Part of me does agree with you who wants to retire from a career they've had for 20 plus years on a loss. But to me he seems very sincere in his statement and I do believe win, lose or draw he will walk away.
Jonny - I didn't realize how this title match could get any bigger. Jake versus me headlining another pay per view for maybe the 500th time and now it's going to be Jake's final appearance in a wrestling ring as an actual competitor. Holy crap man that's a big fucking deal. I get to be the one to embarrass him and his last outing as a wrestler. Nothing in this world and I mean nothing would make me happier than being able to embarrass him in his last match. Man talk about putting my back against a wall. This will be shown in every IIW highlight video for the rest of time and the last thing I want to be shoved down my throat is the fact that Jake beat me then walked away from wrestling completely. I need to get the wind over Jake. If I can't do that then what the hell have I been doing for these last 10 years. Everything I have done and I mean everything has led me to this moment. Jake may be right, maybe I have spent a little too much time dwelling on him. But he is the real top guy in this fed and I want nothing more than to take that spot from him.
Dave - For you that would be the greatest story of all time that you will continually tell for the rest of your life. But you need to understand that Jake is going to do everything in his power to make sure that you do not win that match.
Jonny - Oh I know that for sure. If Jake doesn't want me to win any match versus him regardless of what the stakes are. But now with his career being done and this being his last match believe me I know full well he's coming into this match with more intensity than he ever has. And you know what, I'm glad I want him to come into this match at 100%. I want him to give me his all and leave it all in the ring. I want to beat him at his best. I don't want anyone to say or have any reason to believe that I didn't truly beat Jake in that ring for the 123. I've said it every single time I have wrestled Jake. I want him to give me his all. Why would I want him to take it easy? How could I be proud of a win over someone that didn't give it their all. If I beat Jake and he didn't give it his all I would be embarrassed of myself. Dave you don't need to tell me that he's gonna do everything in his power to end me because I already know it like I've stated.
Dave - Jake also stated the only way you're going to get that title is when Osh waves that lifetime contract in your face and you run back like a good little lap dog. He says because he will no longer be a wrestler in IIW that's why you will get the title.
Jonny - Let me address the lifetime contract first. I love the IIW more than anything in this world. If the IIW is open I will be here wrestling. Lifetime contract or not. Osh will always call me and ask me to return when he runs IIW and I will always say yes. The IIW has been my home for almost 18 years now. If I'm living breathing enabled to wrestle you bet your ass it will be in the IIW arena. Osh and I have had our ups and downs over the years to put it mildly. But I couldn't imagine having anyone else as my boss. Lifetime contract or not I bleed for this company. That's why it is imperative that I beat Jake and take that title and hold it high for everyone in this company to see. I said it once and I'll say it again if you're the champion you're automatically the face of the company. You're the measuring stick that everyone looks to. Jake can say hes outdoing TV appearances hanging out with Graham Norton but that means nothing if the company whose title you hold is In disrepair. Why would you even be proud to be the champion of a federation that is on the brink of bankruptcy. Mind you all of these problems are because Jake as our champion is not present here. IIW is in desperate need of a savior. Someone that will reach into the pit of despair that Jake has put us in and pull us out. Is someone to take this company to heights that have never been seen before. Obviously that person is me.
Dave - All valid points Jonny.
Jonny - Jake can run around until he's blue in the face telling everyone the only way I'll become the champion is after he's gone. And you know something there's a slight chance that he's right. I know the track record of Jake and I. I fully understand that I have not come out on top merely as much as Jake has. I get why he is on the firm belief that I can't win the title if he's still a wrestler. I call absolute bullshit on that though. This is my absolute last opportunity to beat Jake E dangerously for a world championship in this company. You bet your ass I'm going to do every single thing in my power to make sure that my arm is the one that gets raised at the end of Red Alert. I will prove to Jake that I can and will beat him. I don't need him to retire on his own terms in order for me to become the world champion. I fully see how that would look if I became the champion after Jake was gone. Every single person in the locker room and who comes to see us live or watches us on Netflix would always in the back of their head be able to say well he never beat the real champion. I know full well that's what would be said. A wise man once said many many times to be the man you gotta beat the man. That is 100% what I plan to do at red alert. I will become the man and I will beat the man. Jake it pains me to refer to you as the man but the record, your career and all speaks for itself. Everyone including me knows that you are the man here Jake no matter what I have to say about it. But that will all come to a screeching halt at red alert when I beat you fair and square in the middle of that ring.
Dave - Wow things have really heated up for this match at Red Alert. One more thing I want to bring up about what Jake said in his promo. He said something along the lines of you talking the talk because he wasn't in the building. I think he is trying to make everyone think you're scared of him.
Jonny - Don't make me laugh Dave. No one actually believes that. Every single thing I've said here and I've said in any promo I've ever caught I would say directly to the face of Jake. Nothing and I mean nothing about Jake scares me in any way. It's not my fault that he is not at these buildings. It's not my fault that he's too busy to be a real world champion. I brought my ass to every arena we ran a show at and I walked to that ring and I said what I had to say. Now did I know Jake wasn't in the building, no not for certain. I was under the assumption he wasn't there because why would he be. But that doesn't change anything that I would have said. Honestly Jake, that's the narrative you want to try to spin here? We've been doing this dance for 14 years. We've both talked about that. Everything I've said I've stood in front of and I've said loud and proud into your face. I have never once hidden behind anything or from you. What in the hell makes you think I'm going to start doing that crap now. You really have changed Jake, it kind of makes me sad. Maybe it is time that you hang the boots up because you are a shell of the man you used to be. You really want to come out here and try to talk about me being scared of you. You've beaten me how many times yet I've always gotten back up, stepped back into the middle of that ring and called your ass out immediately. I have stood total toe with you more than anyone else in this business and I have said everything to your face. Yeah you wanna sit here and talk about me being scared of you come on homie. Absolutely pathetic trash talk from a miserable washed up legend. You know what, I am glad you're retiring Jake because the only way this company is gonna grow and get better is without you being on the roster. You disgust me Jake.
Dave - Wow those are some strong words from you Jonny. I wouldn't want to be in Jake's position right now cause you seem very fired up. And I feel I would be a bit remiss to not talk about the last time you were this fired up going into a match with Jake E dangerously. It was that match you both talked about that took place 14 years ago. Jake was on another link fee title run and it was a triple threat match and you beat Jake clean in the middle of that ring.
Jonny - That was one of the greatest Knights of my career Dave. I did exactly what I said I was gonna do. I could have taken the easy way out and not try to go after Jake but I brought the fight directly to him. That's why it makes me laugh so hard that he wants to spin the story that I'm afraid of him. Yeah I did end his incredibly lengthy title reign. I'm hoping like hell that history repeats itself once again in a few days at red alert. I was Jake's kryptonite once before and I plan to be that crypt tonight yet again. That's the funny part I have beaten Jake more than once actually. Everybody seems to forget that. Granted he has way more winds over me than I do over him. I fully admit that but I have beaten Jake before and I know I can do it again. At this stage of the game if anyone is scared it should be Jake. You see if Jake beats me again that doesn't do anything. Jake's beaten me in the past many times way more than I've beaten him so him beating me again doesn't really mean much. Yet if I can beat him and take that title in his final match it will tarnish his entire career. It will embarrass him on his last night as a professional wrestler allegedly. He's the only one that has anything to lose in this match at red alert. It's literally all upside for me and all down side for him. That is the biggest story that should be told going into this title match. He has put himself up on such a high pedestal his fall from grace is going to be spectacular. Honestly I don't think Jake is as good as he thinks that he is. He has this crazy God complex like he's better than every single person to ever lace up a pair of boots. That's just not true in any capacity.
Dave - Jake also claims you sang off key.
Jonny - You know he's been calling me delusional for many many years now. But him saying I sang off key shows me that he's actually the delusional one. I have the voice of a goddamn angel. I've never sang off key once in my life. Some people have heard me sing and said my voice it's a combination of Fergie and Jesus. So no Jake I'm not gonna stoop to your level I know I didn't say golf key because I never sing off key I'm a classically trained vocalist. You can say what you will but I know for a fact you're full of shit. You're just trying to get a rise out of me and it's not going to happen Jake. OK maybe a little bit because I know I seem like an angel. I know I didn't say lofty spread whatever lies you want about me being scared about me being delusional all the crap you've sent about me over the years. But you leave my golden pipes out of this.
Dave - I also didn't think it was out of key. I quite liked it actually.
Jonny - Of course you liked it Dave you're a person with ears.
Dave - Moving on from Jake before I let you go I gave to ask About the number one contenders match. Tyler Debonair vs Curtis. There is a chance that if you do in fact beat Jake at Red Alert your first title defense will be against your son Curtis. How do you feel about that?
Jonny - I pray to God that Curtis, my bastard spawn, beats Tyler at red alert. I know deep down in my heart that I'm going to win the world's title from Jake and I really want my title defense to be against Curtis. Curtis and I have never had a proper match here in IIW. I've never gotten the chance to publicly beat his ass for as long as I see fit. I will relish the opportunity to beat him from pillar to post. He stands absolutely no chance against me. The only reason he's gotten as far as he has is because he's got my blood running through his veins. Curtis is nothing but a second rate Jonny C. There's a reason why when I found out about him I kicked into the curb like everyone else in his life has. That happy-go-lucky act that he puts on is absolute bullshit and it makes me sick to my stomach. It pains me to know that he is partly my child. To answer your question, yes Dave, I've been keeping a close eye on the number one contenders match. I think Tyler is an absolute dildo. He wants to throw me his crutches like I'm some kind of Butler here does he not know who the fuck I am. I didn't need a number one contender shot to get a shot at the title he did. My name carries weight in this federation and that's something he needs to realize real goddamn quick. Don't worry when I get my hands on him in the center of that ring I'm gonna show him why I'm the whole God damn show and he's not even a little tiny piece of it. And yes I've been watching Curtis I saw what he had to say about me that I'm the old timid reason to be here that he wants to change me for the better. I call bullshit on his little act he's not that good of a person. There's a darkness in him and if he is the one to challenge me I will be the 1 to awaken that darkness in him mark my words. Whether I like it or not he's half of me DNA wise that means he's not all Goody 2 shoes.
Dave - I would love to see you lock up with Curtis. That match would be insane.
Jonny - The only insane thing would be the beating that I lay in to Curtis. Sure he has made quite the name for himself this year. He broke Bam Miller and then ruined Russell Wayne. He claims he made Wayne the best version of himself but we all know that's crap. Russell Wayne was a deadly wrestler a few months ago then he ran into Curtis and now he is basically a kitten. His family would be ashamed to look at him and see what he has become. If Curtis manages to get by Tyler it will be the biggest mistake of his life. I will do everything in my power to absolutely destroy everything about him. If he does have to go one-on-one with me it will be the last wrestling match he ever has.
Dave - Also I completely forgot you and Tyler had a quick little run in a few months back. It looked like you guys were going to have a match and then all of a sudden nothing happened.
Jonny - That's because Bob Mitchell can't direct his way out of a paper bag. Next to Jake Bob is the biggest Cancer in this company. After I read this company of Jake I will set my sights on Bob. Ash built this company and Bob is single handedly destroying it. While not single handedly his little boyfriend Jake is definitely helping. They are in Coats and as a team doing everything they can to make sure this company goes bankrupt
Dave - I have no comment on Bob Mitchell or how he runs that federation. I'm just a journalist who has to ask the questions.
Jonny - The consummate professional you are Dave. That's why your radio show and Podcast have 5 star ratings all over the Internet.
Dave - Thank you very much. I appreciate that. But that is all the time we have for today. I would like to thank my guest Infamous Jonny C for stopping by today spending some time here answering my questions. I would like to wish you good luck on your main event world title match at red alert verse Jake E Dangerously.
Jonny - Thank you for having me Dave. I appreciate the opportunity and I appreciate you asking me to come here today. It has been my pleasure to sit in and answer all of your questions. I hope I gave you all the answers you wanted today.
Dave - And then some ha ha ha.
Jonny - Yeah I have a reputation of being long winded.
Dave - That's all for today guys. Thanks for listening. Check out our website for merchandise and make sure to tune in to IIW Red Alert to watch Jonny C take on Jake E Dangerously in the main event for the world title.
The scene fades to black.
