Wrestler, Hero, Champion. Top of the mountain with an entourage, gold title belts, a legion of adoring fans, and a sweet sweet Corvette. … 16 years ago. It turns out it’s tough for a wrestler to get back anywhere near the top after they’ve quite literally destroyed the company they worked for. After a chidhood of undying admiration for everything professional wrestling, Max Stone began his career at 20 years old as “Rex Renegade” in 1999 when a ring announcer had a mix up and gave him a name that fans quickly took to. After 6 months of intense training under former jobber professional wrestler turned hard ass high school gym teacher, Mr. G, Rex made his debut in the FWA where he met many competitors he would lock horns with for years to come. Rex Renegade lost and lost quite often but this lovable loser grabbed the hearts of fans everywhere as he looked up at the lights night after night. While the cheers made him feel an appreciation he had never experienced before in his life, Max didn’t get into this industry to be a loveable loser. He shed the Rex Renegade persona and embarked on a world tour under his real name and developed his skills. Fans across the United Kingdom were regularly treated to bloody bouts between Max Stone and “The British Bad Boy” Jack Devargas. This personal rivalry turned into a friendship when Jack would eventually recruit Max to the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States to join the Honorable Wrestling Alliance in 2005. Max quickly ascended the ranks of the HWA and it didn’t take long at all to capture his first championship in the United States when he won the “Honorable” Championship. Max’s hard hitting in ring style with his personal and transparent promos on the mic made him a fan favorite. With the momentum of a speeding train, Max set his sights on the HWA Championship and accomplished that feat just a few months into his run. Arenas full of rabid fans thrilled to see their champion rained their praises upon him and for the first time in his life, Max Stone felt cared for. He felt valuable. He felt powerful. Max Stone carried the HWA Championship into the main event of the biggest show of the year in 2007 having no idea that this would be the night his downfall would begin. The HWA fans, HIS fans, were starting to cheer for the opponent he would be facing on this night. As the match progressed, the cheers were getting louder…. But not for him. With four cracks of a steel chair and middle fingers in the air, the honorable hero did what was previously unthinkable and turned dirty. Minutes later, a new competitor took the mantle of hero as the fans showered a new champion with the praise Max Stone was so used to receiving. Broken and bruised, Max spent months resenting everything that had happened. He had seen how quickly his friend Jack had moved to the back of people’s minds after his title reign ended due to a severe injury and feared that he was now yesterday’s news. Weeks and weeks passed and barely a mention of Max Stone on HWA programming. The dream had ended and now it was time for the nightmare to begin. Unexplainable apocalyptic imagery would begin appearing on screen in HWA arenas, on the TV broadcast, on their web pages. After weeks of footage of destruction and fire, it was announced that “THE END IS NEAR” leaving fans and internet detectives trying to figure out just what this all meant. On December 31, 2007 on the “Eve of Destruction” the lights went out and the arena was bathed in orange light. Max Stone had returned to the HWA alongside Jack DeVargas who hadn’t been seen in the promotion in over a year. THE END was set into motion as the newly christened “DESTROYERS” laid waste to the HWA. Wrestlers were beaten and ringside crew were deemed targets. Fires were set and production equipment was destroyed. The time was now for the HWA to rise up and defeat this threat…. But it never happened. The HWA abruptly ceased operations. The Destroyers accomplished their goal. The company that gave Max Stone his highest highs and lowest lows was now reduced to ashes and now it was time to find somewhere new to apply his craft… but like we said before, it’s tough for a wrestler to get back anywhere near the top after they’ve quite literally destroyed the company they worked for. Over the next 15 years Max Stone would find himself wrestling in bingo halls and high school gyms for very little money. Cheering crowds would become something that existed only in his memories. Admiration? Now a pipe dream. Now it’s 2022, Max Stone is 43 years old and only God knows why he’s still in professional wrestling. He’s desperately reverted back to his “Rex Renegade” persona since his real name carries no more value in this industry. Once a lovable loser, Rex Renegade is now just a loser getting light tubes smashed over his head in ultra-violent matches for bread crumbs. But deep down, the performer who captivated crowds all those years ago is still there somewhere trapped and waiting to reappear and has begun his march to the IIW, ready to set it on fire…. Only figuratively this time. -- more coming soon -- ENTRANCE (OPTIONAL): The arena lights go dark as the intro to "Head like a Hole" by Nine Inch Nails starts playing. Clocks of all different varieties displaying "12:00" light up on the video board. BOOOOOOOOOOM The stage explodes with red pyrotechnics as the song's first verse begins. Out walks Max Stone, stepping over little pieces of fire left over from the pyro. He looks around the arena and admires the support from the fans. God money, I'll do anything for you God money, just tell me what you want me to God money, nail me up against the wall God money, don't want everything, he wants it all Max walks up the ring steps and enters the ring as the chorus of the song hits and white strobe lights flash through the arena. Head like a hole, black as your soul I'd rather die than give you control Head like a hole, black as your soul I'd rather die than give you control Max paces around the ring and then raises his arms into the air to bow. The crowd mimics him as they cheer like crazy. Bow down before the one you serve You're going to get what you deserve Bow down before the one you serve You're going to get what you deserve Max goes to a corner and waits for the bell to ring ACCOMPLISHMENTS IIW United Kingdom Championship [Won at Keys 2 Success on 2023-03-12] IIW Hardcore Championship [Won at IIW Red Alert on 2022-09-18.
