The scene opens to show Caleb Scott, the night after his fierce battle with TJ Alexander at Explosion, in St. Cloud, MN. The intense winter has been descending upon the city for weeks now. The gusts of wind sting like knives slicing your flesh. The thermometer reads 14 degrees Fahrenheit but with the wind chill it’s feels more like -10. Caleb is standing on the sidewalk on 5th Ave, next to a local bar called The Red Carpet, in downtown St. Cloud. The sidewalk is mostly empty as people don’t usually go out for an evening walk once the winter months roll in. Caleb stands with his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket which is zipped up just enough to let a little bit of the Television Championship peek out past the zipper. The string lights zig-zagged over 5th Ave light up the area as cars slowly move through the area. The camera closes in on Caleb and he glances up at it.
Caleb begins to walk forward through the light until he reaches the edge and begins to move into the darkness. He continues to walk down the sidewalk until he reaches Division Street. The bright green light from the traffic light covers Caleb’s face. He squints up at the light then turns west and begins to journey down Division away from the lights and noise of downtown.
“But before that happens, we have the Ice Crown Rumble. An event up for grabs apparently for any nobody off the street to win and earn a shot at any title of their choosing. Some of these guys I swear IIW just brought in from the back alley just to fill space. But it doesn’t matter because everyone in the Ice Crown Rumble can and will receive the same punishment whether champion or vagrant. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the privilege of picking which championship to go after will fall upon myself. The one that is truly worthy of winning such a match. I have been Television Champion for four months, I have defeated opponent after opponent, my historic run in IIW thus far has been unmatched by anyone else in the Rumble. Undesirables like Pequeno Dinosaurio, the almighty son of Tiranosaurio, really think they have a chance at beating me? Pequeno or anyone else will not be leaving Manchester as a winner. The same way he couldn’t leave Explosion with the Tag Team Championships with Iron Wolf. Nobody in this rumble can stand up to me and defeat me. I have proven time and time again since I showed up in IIW that I am and will continue to destroy everyone that stands before me.”
Caleb continues to move down Division Street as he walks past Lake George. He stops, stares, and thinks about all those years ago when he first met The Order down at Lake George and where he is now. From a scared kid to a champion in IIW. Caleb continues to stare before snapping out of it and continuing to walk down Division Street.
“There are also a few newcomers that I will be able to get my hands on for the first time. Amadeus Fox is one of those unfortunate souls. I’m sure he’s looking for new opportunities in a new promotion but that will not happen for him as long as I’m around. He ended up making the worst choice possible and came to IIW, where I am. The only thing that waits for him in IIW is pain and failure at my hands. Being a newcomer here, he probably just didn’t know better but I will be teaching him real soon. He might have a favorable spot in the Rumble at #20 but as sure as I will still be in the ring, I will be the one to put him out of it. He nearly pinned El Landerson to win his debut and this match will yield the same result, another loss. You will walk out of the IIW Arena yet again a failure.”
Caleb moves past more random businesses in St. Cloud, nicknamed Granite City because of the granite quarries found there. The weather becomes worse, the wind blowing harder, the cold becoming colder, and flakes of snow begin to move through the air. Caleb doesn’t flinch, he moves through the weather he knows all too well.
“TCJ is another casualty I will become familiar with in the Rumble. My goal has always to inflict pain on the entire roster and the Ice Crown Rumble gives me many opportunities to inflict pain on many people, especially all the fresh faces we have in this match, which include TCJ. This will be TCJ’s first match in IIW and I will make sure it’s one he doesn’t forget. One that properly welcomes him to IIW. If he comes back after the Rumble, I’ll be shocked.”
Caleb then approaches Crossroads Center. The lone mall in the middle of St. Cloud. Only a few cars occupy the parking lot. The winter storm approaches and people are hunkering down in their homes, turning St. Cloud into a ghost town.
“Then there’s K Jax. A man I will be introducing myself to with my fists when he finally enters at #26. A man that came oh so close to winning his debut, but Tex Attwater proved to have the wrestling IQ to overcome. If that’s how you lose your debut match, then I’m not going to be too worried about you in the Ice Crown Rumble. You will not be getting some big redemption victory here. From K Jax, someone who just debuted, to someone who has been not only been around but just had a little bit of success at Explosion. Beckett Marisol. The brand new IIW Women’s Champion. One of five champions involved in this match. I’m sure she’ll be cruising on that confidence coming into the Ice Crown Rumble especially with the rest of the 2nd Coming in the match too. I’m sure they expect to take this match but I’m going to make sure she cruises right back out of my ring where the rest of the 2nd Coming will be joining her. There will be many opponents, some well-known, some not known to the point that there is nothing to even look up on them.”
Caleb stands in the vacant parking lot at Crossroads Center and faces the camera while his hair blows across his face from the strong gusts of wind. As the wind blows, more and more snow begins to blast across the screen. Suddenly, the storm stops. The wind isn’t blowing, the snow isn’t moving, staying frozen in midair, everything is silent. It’s like someone has pressed the pause button on the world. Caleb continues to stand and stare forward. As the camera spins around behind Caleb, we see that the black altar is now placed in front of Caleb. Caleb’s drudges hold their torches at each corner of the altar. Caleb approaches the altar; his body pushing the frozen snowflakes out of his way and looks down upon 29 stones placed on the altar.
“29 stones representing the 29 victims I am about to conquer. 29 stones because everyone in the Ice Crown Rumble is nothing but a steppingstone to me to reach the heights I desire. I will cap off 2022 with this Rumble victory and start 2023 holding all the power as I walk into Combat with the ability to go after the Global Championship. Whether I use it to become the first Global Champion or to crush the dreams of whoever does win it first by taking the title from them remains to be seen but all will be revealed in time.”
Caleb places his hands over the 29 stones. He closes his eyes and inaudibly mumbles to himself. He then moves his hands from above the stones, placing them at his sides, and 29 drops of blood fall from the sky, each one landing perfectly on one of the 29 stones. When they land on the stones, they begin to sizzle and give off a small amount of smoke. Caleb then opens his eyes and looks down at the stones to see them beginning to crack and crumble until they become dust. Caleb smiles before looking up and turning around. The camera watches Caleb as he takes a few steps before the light from the torches disappear from his back. The camera again circles Caleb and viewing him from the front, we see that the black altar and Caleb’s drudges have disappeared. There is nothing remaining except the empty lot.
“This Ice Crown Rumble is mine to win. They want to turn it into a frozen tundra? I am from a frozen tundra! I have spent years in the -40-degree Minnesota winters. The only thing the freezing cold will do to me is help me, the cold is my advantage. I grew up in the cold, I suffered in the cold. Now, the cold will preserve all the bodies after I eliminate them from the Ice Crown Rumble. Whether they remain on Mayhem or follow me to Combat, they will become trophies of mine after I stand above their frozen remains as their Ice Crown Champion. I will then stand above all IIW once I become its Global Champion.”
Time has resumed; the snow is blowing, and the storm begins to move closer to St. Cloud. The wind has increased to an extreme speed and the snow is now falling in large chunks. Eventually the screen is washed out in a sea of white snow. Caleb becoming invisible in the white wall. The screen eventually cutting to black as the winter weather becomes too intense.

“One challenge has ended as another one begins. I have left Explosion still the IIW Television Champion. He put in a good effort, nearly breaking my arm, but like everyone before, I also defeated TJ Alexander after covering him in his own blood. After the match, I showed everyone what my final decision was regarding The Purge. Our darkness could not be ignored and so I joined Ryan Hawkins. Now, with The Purge, we can move our agenda forward. Our agenda of hurting and bringing brutality to the entire IIW roster. Hurting people is why I came here in the first place and it’s what The Purge stands for so of course I joined. Although, unfortunately, some of the roster will become out of our grasp as IIW has grown to such extremes and has gotten a roster larger than it can handle, that it will now split into two shows. By default, I am going to Combat as the Television Champion. My Television Championship reign will continue onto the new show until I decide it is time for me to move on to more prestigious championships. Starting in 2023, Combat will be Caleb Scott’s show and I welcome you all to the pain and suffering you will endure.”
