The camera opens to a shot of Caleb Scott walking barefoot through thick grass with his bat in hand. The camera in front of him moves along with him as he walks, the sound of the chain on the bat fills the silence as it rubs against the metal plates attached to the bat. The IIW Television Championship is slung over Caleb’s shoulder. It's in the evening hours the night before The Ice Crown Rumble. The sky is overcast, and the night will arrive soon. Gusts of wind blow Caleb's hair and clothing around as he moves through the vibrant green thick grass. His expression says everything you need to know about his current demeanor. Focused, confident, ready. Caleb then stops walking and acknowledges the camera.
"At Explosion, I did exactly what I set out to do. Joining The Purge made sense. With Ryan and the followers now behind me, I can move through the IIW roster like never before. Also, I defeated TJ Alexander and yet again remained your Television Champion. However, in doing so, I sealed my own fate. The Television Championship is going to the new show, Combat, which means I am going to Combat. A new show with new challenges, some familiar faces and some new ones that can be introduced to my new piece of destruction."
The sound of water crashing against rocks 300' down the side of the cliff can be faintly heard as Caleb continues to stand in place. He turns his head from the camera and stares forward with a thousand-yard stare. Caleb's body language is different than any other time we've seen him. He stands confident yet uncertain, relaxed but ready for war.
"But before I begin my reign of chaos on Combat, we have the Ice Crown Rumble. Ada Pierce is not involved this year meaning a new Ice Crown Champion will be crowned and that champion will be me and when I win the Rumble, I hold the power to request a title shot of my choosing and that brand new Global Championship is looking pretty appealing. At the Rumble, I had the luck of drawing the #5 entry which means I will have a chance at facing every challenger as long as Eoin, McCann, J Mont and Terry Marshall can handle lasting a few minutes in the ring before I show up. I will have the chance to eliminate as many competitors as possible, I will have the chance to inflict as much brutality as possible. The arena will be chilled down to -10 degrees. Well, I am from the Granite City, St. Cloud, Minnesota. I was born and raised in weather well below -10. It is a frozen hellscape there for 8 months of the year and at the Ice Crown Rumble, the Granite City Sadist will thrive in the frozen conditions and take out every single competitor."
The camera circles around behind Caleb and we see he is standing towards the edge of the White Cliffs of Dover. Lining the edge of the cliff are statues, 29 stone statues of each opponent in the Rumble, Caleb’s 4 hooded drudges standing two on each side of the line of statues, holding torches. Caleb slowly approaches the long row of IIW stars. He walks down the line before stopping at a statue of Ryan Hawkins.
"Then following me at #6 is my new ally, Ryan Hawkins. It will be nice to have a friend in the Rumble but if it comes to it, I will eliminate Ryan like anyone else in order to achieve my goal of becoming the Ice Crown Champion."
Caleb continues to move on down the row of statues until he reaches two that are next to each other, Eoin O’Rourke, and Apathy.
"Ah yes, this gem of a couple will be entering the Rumble. Eoin couldn’t win the Hardcore title at Red Alert then couldn’t win the International title at Explosion. Now he wants to try and reach for victory at the Ice Crown Rumble, but the wrestling gods are doing everything they can to prevent that, with him being the first entry. I’m afraid the results will be the same for Eoin as his previous PPV appearances. And Apathy? That’s exactly how the crowd will feel once she makes her way to the ring at #24, surely Eoin will be long gone by then.”
Moving past more statues, Caleb continues to admire the structures as the waves crash down below and the gusts of wind blow Caleb’s hair across his face as he walks. Caleb's steady breathing shows how he feels in control. He then stops and stares at another group of statues.
“There will also be a few familiar faces in there with me that I have shared the ring with before. Ryan McCann, Fred Debonair, Max Stone. Three names I know well and three names I will add to my list of eliminations in Manchester. Stone I’m sure will still be hung up on his International title match loss at Explosion. Plus, Fred needed a restart to walk away a winner. Like at Explosion, I will walk away the winner without any question. Then there’s a social media addict Maverick Tatum. Maybe it would be best for you to stick of social media on the 29th and not show up to the IIW Arena because if you come to the ring, the only selfie that will end up on your phone will be one of your corpse.”
Stopping at more statues, Caleb glances down the line.
"Here we have some fresh blood. Bobby Mack, the first match he gets thrown into is the Ice Crown Rumble. I guess it’s a good introduction for what he has in store during his IIW career. A lot of pain and suffering. He might have drawn #29 but there is no chance he wins this Rumble. Also, we have Xavier Lux. Some clown from XWF that Fred decided to invite. At #17, I’ll only have to wait through 12 entrants before I get my hands on Lux so I can show him how we do things in IIW. He thinks he can just hop into this world and take part in this match? I’ll make sure he never wants to come back to IIW and stays in XWF. Also, we have Andre Cash. The giant that couldn’t manage to win a fatal four-way at Explosion but thinks he can win the Ice Crown Rumble. Andre, maybe you should cycle off the Tren, calm down for a second and think about what you’re really getting yourself into. Entering the ring with me will the last mistake you make. Then there’s Eddie Charisma, another greenhorn with only a single match to his IIW career. A match I’m happy he won against Chris Norton since Norton attacked me after our previous match. However, you might have been a champion all over but you’re in the big leagues now. This is IIW. One champion I know you will not become is the Ice Crown Champion because that belongs to me.”
Looking at the next two statues beside Mack and Lux, Caleb continues.
"Fellow champion J Mont will be one of the few getting to the ring before me at #3. You might have been able to handle Eoin and Max Stone at Explosion but not even you, the reigning International Champion, will be able to prevent me from being the final warrior standing in that ring above everyone else."
Statue after statue Caleb continues to walk in front of all of them until he reaches the final statue.
“Of course, the final entrant. The person who should have the best chance at winning the Ice Crown Rumble. Rhett Dawson. Your boy, Sawyer Wade, will be getting to the ring just 5 spots before you. Both of you I’m sure flying high after becoming the new tag champs and Beckett winning the Women’s Championship at Explosion. But what happens if one of you has the opportunity to eliminate each other or Maverick or Beckett? Can you do it? Do either of you have what it takes to focus on your goal at hand and do anything it takes to achieve it? Let me tell you right now that you do not. You will hesitate and when you do, I will take advantage.”
Caleb then begins to walk away from the statues.
"When I first came to IIW, I was underestimated. I was not expected to do anything here. But then I won, and I kept winning. Then I put this gold around my waist. Now I will win the Ice Crown Championship. There's a story of Julius Caesar when he was kidnapped by pirates. At one point he told the pirates that once he was freed, he would come back and crucify every single one of them. The pirates didn't take it seriously and ignored him. They underestimated him, didn’t expect him to keep his word. Once his ransom was paid and he was set free, he came back and did exactly what he said he would do. He killed every last one of them. Everybody in this Rumble is like those pirates and I'm going to come in and destroy every single one of you."
Caleb looks up and down the row of statues then suddenly begins to tense up, all that can be heard is a high-pitched tone. Caleb drops to one knee, in pain as his bat drops to the ground, and he brings both hands up to his ears and screams. The red veins in Caleb’s eyes turning black. After a few seconds the pain stops, and Caleb snaps out of it and looks around. He isn't sure what just happened, but he doesn't feel any pain anymore and his eyes have returned to their normal white as he slowly makes his way back to his feet and picks up his bat. Caleb then again walks forward away from the statues and towards the camera. His bat resting on his shoulder, he stops in front of a rock. As he continues to speak, Ryan Hawkins appears and stands beside Caleb while behind them stand the Purge Followers.
“29 other people think they have what it takes to win the Ice Crown Rumble. However, they will all fail as I continue to do what I have been doing since I stepped foot in IIW. I will become the Ice Crown Champion and with that, I will challenge for the IIW Global Championship and continue my climb to the mountaintop. 29 opponents. 29 chances. This Ice Crown Rumble is mine to win, and I will walk into the world-famous IIW Arena and do what nobody else expects. I will win. One through 30, I hear there's even a waiting list to get in so send the rest of them down to the ring. It won't matter how many there are, I will scratch, claw, and slam my way through everyone, and tomorrow, December 29th, I will leave Manchester as your new Ice Crown Champion. This victory will be the cherry on top of a successful 2022 in IIW. My first year filled with violence, gold and finally an Ice Crown Rumble victory.”
Caleb then takes his bat, swings it, and strikes the rock which causes an eruption of sparks as Caleb walks off-screen. The sparks ignite a flammable liquid in the grass. The flames begin to move back towards the statues and once it reaches them, it ignites every statue as the flames move down the line until every statue has been engulfed in flames. The silhouettes of Caleb, Ryan and the Purge Followers continue to stand in front of the flames as the statues burn. The final shot is an aerial view of the cliffside as the statues continue to burn. The wind blows black smoke out over the water into the sky as the camera fades to black.
