We start in a rundown hotel room in Manchester. A man is lying down across the bed, shades on his eyes and an empty beer bottle in his hands as he lays asleep.
His phone rings several times before he finally rises to life. Shaking his head and stretches. He leads over to the nightstand and picks up his phone.
(Bam) It's daddy talk to me?
He listens to why the other person on the line talks.
(Bam) A dark show match at the KKND PPV? Yea, you can book me for it; see you then.
He hangs up the phone and begins to talk to himself as he changes out of his clothes.
(Bam) They are calling it a dark match, but I know how this works. It's just a prove me match to see if they want to keep me around.
I should've seen it coming. It's not like I was a big name to start with, and the pay I've received ain't that great either I can barely afford to stay in this dump, but ill have to make do for now.
My opponent must be in the same position as I am didn't see Chris Norton on the official roster page. He must be trying to get his name on there too, but I won't let it be at my expense.
Bam goes to his dresser drawer and changes into some running shorts and a tank top. He sits on the edge of the bed as he begins to tie his shoes up as he talks to himself again.
(Bam) I hope that guy Osh isn't looking for me to be a clown or a comedy act. I know how he was preaching about getting more viewers and getting all these streaming deals, but I don't care for that.
That's not my style. I'm not going to get on a mic and sell myself to the people that is begging in my eyes, and I'm not looking for any handouts.
If I'm going to become a household name, it will be of my own accord. Just like I did back in Detroit.
I was never the best or the most athletically gifted in my class, but that didn't stop me. I came in early and was always the last one to leave. I even help break the ring down after house show events.
I was never like the entitled guys that came in claiming to be the next big thing. Nope, I just kept my head down and let my actions determine my path, and it must be working because it's gotten me this far.
He stands up and puts on his hoodie as grabs his phone, and puts in AirPods pro.
(Bam)I'm just going to continue to outwork everyone and give it my all. That's how I go to this point, doing it my way, no tricks or mirrors, no outside help, no professional help. It just me and my discipline that's all I need to continue to move forward.
I'll chop away at the mountain until I've reformed it into nothing more than a piece of a pebble.
He heads for the door and opens it; as the sun shines bright on him, he goes outside the motel. He stretches in the parking lot as he starts his music. Playing, no one will survive.
He heads off, running into the distance until he eventually fades out of sight.

Chris Norton – Woah that was a hard work out… But it will be worth it in the long run.. I can feel the burn already.
Chris ran his forearm across his head wiping away the sweat as he stepped off the abdominal machine slowly stretching him out as to not cause any muscle cramps. He looked around for his towel but it wasn’t there, he looked on confused as he walked on looking for it.
Chris Norton – Maybe I left it in the shower room
Chris walked into the shower room to have a look for his towel.. he checked the benches but still couldn’t find it. Then, he looked down at the floor and noticed his brand new towel drenched in water on the muddy floor with footprints all over it as people had just walked over it. Looking closer you could see ‘Property Of Chris Norton’ still etched into the top right hand corner though now there was a big brown smudge over the last part of his name.
Jonny C then walked past looked down at the towel and laughed
Jonny C – rookie
Chris face began to turn a shade of red as the blood rushed to his head as his temper began to flare
Chris Norton – No Be cool… one slip like this and your out on your ass..
Chris defiantly had his head screwed on even if he had not had a proper education, but then again not a lot of wrestlers have had them, but he defiantly knew rights and wrongs… He had heard about the new guy traditions, he knew he would probably take a bit of stick and not have any respect, but that was fine because if this is true then one day Jonny C had no respect… one day even Osh had no respect. It was just time for Chris to grit his teeth and just plow through it…But how was he going to have a shower now?
Chris Norton – Eureka!
Of course Chris remembered now, he had packed a spare in his locker room, he broke into a bit of a jog as he headed to get his towel as he was skipping down he bumped into Mike Fisher
Chris Norton – Oh Hi Mike!
Mike Fisher – Just been to the gym Chris? I think maybe you need to take a shower before your match, don’t think your opponents will appreciate it
Chris Norton – Yeah I’m planning to Mike, just well my towel got
Mike Fisher – Covered in dirt and stuck to the floor in the shower room?
Chris Norton – well yeah to be honest
Mike Fisher – Ah typical IIW Prank, these guys they think there funny to be honest, there not really.
Chris Norton – Oh, Ok. I thought I’d get some rookie treatment but I’m guessing everyone has gone through this before.
Mike Fisher – Yeah just ignore it and go out there tonight and show the guys what you can do and you’ll be just fine.
Chris Nodded and thanked Mike before making his way to get his towel and then head for the showers.
Post Shower.
Chris has had his shower now and is getting ready in his ring attire for his match. The shower in the IIW significant as it’s definite alone time, a time where you wont be bugged apart from the occasional “IS ANYONE IN THERE?” But ignoring that occasional lapse it’s the perfect opportunity to sort your head out, a perfect chance to evaluate all possibilities because you will not be interrupted. Chris had envisioned himself a week from now Redebuting at KKND PPV…Wow what a rise to fame that would be. Bam Miller was the name he would have to go through to get to where he wants to be, and then that’s just the first step, he would then be taking the next step to take on the guys he grew up idolising… What a show he had put on, defining everything Chris had grown up watching or would it be Jonny C? He could face Jake E Dangerously another guy who had a massive stance on the federation the possibilities were endless and what if the Boss wasnt happy with Chris’s performance and threw someone else into the mix. The potential of this match was beginning to make Chris really nervous.
The ideal plan was always to make a slow entrance building his way up well that was what Chris thought would happen because no one wants to go flying into the mix and get their ass handed to them. How embarrassing would it be If he was to lose on his first appearance, What if the James Gang continued their random attacks then through no fault of his own, well no fault of his wrestling skills he would be out of the running and cast back into the shadows. How he hated the situation he had been put in, it felt like he had been thrown in the deep end. Fair play it was a standard one on one curtain jerker but there wad still pressure. Chris convinced himself that he would be able to handle this, but deep at the back of his mind was the thought that he would fail that this would be the end of his dream. Chris refused to listen to this though pushing it deeper and deeper into the back of his mind until it was a nothing. Defeat was not an option
Chris walked back into his locker room where he sat down to check out the pre-show.
His eyes lightened up at what he saw, it was Bam Miller on the television talking shit about him, Chris Nortno.
Chris Norton – What an idiot
Well still on his first day on the job Chris was getting an insight into what the future might be like. Bam here looked to have cracked under the pressure, he had fallen into the tricks and traps of the professional wrestling business, paranoia, depressing, madness these were some of the symptoms that could be thrown up by the wrestling business.
If you’re not a main star your expendable
That was a theory that was never said but it was something that Chris had been told during his training. The top federations were ruthlessly unloyal unless you made them a lot of money. It looked like Bam had succumbed to this, being just a mid card wrestler he never made it to the big leagues which made him mad. So it looks like he took his anger out on the upstairs room, blaming everyone else for his diminishing qualities.
Chris Norton – Hmm this guy sure does look like he could be a handful in the ring
Chris glanced at his watch 2 hours till his match as long as nothing over runs or maybe less if it all goes quickly.
Just then some of Bam’s glancing words caught Chris square on.
Chris Norton – Nobody knows I exist?
Chris mutters to himself as he continues to go on about him
Chris Norton – A case of survival?
Chris shook his head, for some reason he was getting more confident, things were beginning to come back to him, he could feel that natural rush as he knew this was his destiny, and there was no more time to think negatively, he would be going out into that ring a man! He would return a man.. no longer could he think about impressing. Impressing wasn’t going to be enough on this occasion, he knew this was make or break

We open up to Bam running through the streets of the city centre. As he is running, he sees a homeless man on the street begging for change, but much like society, everyone pretends not to see him treating him as if he was a disease.
Bam stops and scrambles through his pockets, knowing he doesn't have much himself. He can't stand to see another innocent person suffer. He pulls out some money and hands it to the man.
(Bam) Here you go, Sir. I know it's not much, but it's something.
The homeless man takes the money and nods his head in thanks as almost a single year comes showing his gratitude.
Bam acknowledges him and starts running back, but after a few miles, he comes by a trash can behind a building, reminding him of how he was found.
(Bam) Yea didn't need to be reminded that I was a dumpster baby. I guess I can't complain too much about doing better than the homeless guy; even though I do need to find another side job, why waiting for my wrestling checks. Wonder if there is a biker shop around.
Now let me get focus I can't think about anything else right now other than my match. If I can't shake my past and focus, I'll be packing my bags quicker than I intended.
I'm sure Chris is in the gym right now preparing for our match.
After seeing the video, he posted earlier, I got to admit he's got heart, but I'm not impressed I've faced tougher competition back in Detroit, Michigan.
You see, Chris looks down on me because I don't want to play the hero. He thinks I've given up on being a main event player and that ill be ok being a mid-career.
He's got me all wrong if he thinks I'm just going to lay down and let other people walk all over me. I'm not letting anyone be my stepping stone.
You see, what I said was I wasn't going to get to the top by kissing Osh’s ass. I'm not joining any kiss my ass club around here.
What I am going to do is kick the door down to IIW, beat everyone they line up to face me at the door!
And force management to take notice as I set my blazing path towards the top, but I know before I can do that, I must win my match against Christ Norton.
So with that said, come Sunday when the bell rings, I'm going to give it my all, Norton, and you can look me in my eyes and know I'm not going to be playing around this is my lively hood, and I will make sure I come out on top.
So buckle up, Chris. It's about to be Miller Time.
Bam starts back running head back towards the motel to get read. The scene begins to fade out as Bam takes off in the distance.
