MONEY.
"I got that."
FEMALES.
"The perfect format."
CARS.
"Plenty to look at."
Clyde: "Unforgettable on Mayhem. I think not; I was just as memorable as a Kobe Bryant jump shot. Michael Hunter thought he had a fighting chance; you could tell just by looking that it was my chance to advance. I walked away that night with my hand raised, leaving everyone amazed and leaving him dazed and hazed. "You chose the wrong homie to mess with; I strike faster than a blacksmith and a locksmith."
Clyde has pulled off his first victory in IIW, and now he sets his eyes and mind on the next opponent, Knox on Mayhem. With his debut out of the way and cobwebs shaken off, the self-proclaimed "Muscle & Flow" looks to continue his winning ways. Knox was recently defeated by Deandre Williams, a former pro athlete turned professional wrestler. Can Knox recover and save himself from the downward spiral he has been experiencing, or will it be the same result?
DEFEAT.
The cameras have caught up with Clyde outside his house in Brooklyn, standing in front of his garage on a bright sunny day. Reaching inside his pocket, he pulls out the electronic garage opener and hits the button, making a beeping noise before it begins to raise. Taking a few steps inside the garage, we can see about four expensive cars lined up. Looking back towards the camera, he cracks a big smile on his face before he says something.
Clyde: "They are beautiful, aren’t they? Everyone has the assumption that just because I was born and raised in the hood, I am poor. I worked hard to move away from the hood and obtain the amount of cash I needed to live this lavish lifestyle. These cars were bought and paid for with cash; how I got that cash is not the question, but I did. Now I’ve heard the news that this Mayhem I will face Knox in a one-on-one match. Knox, come on, dawg, do you really think you scare me? The only thing that worries me is that the food you digest will come back up during the match."
OVERWEIGHT.
Clyde: "I know you think you are a bad man and consider yourself the Punisher of the Purge, or, like I say, the sweet tooth urge. I want you to understand that we are built and bleed differently. You act like a wannabe tough guy; I am a real thug. I dare you to try and outmuscle me in that ring, and I will prove just exactly how worthless you are. We all know the only thing on that table you bring is a full, three-course meal. Last week, I predicted that Clyde Newton would be at the top of the IIW rankings just in time. I want to apologize first. Knox I'm truly sorry that another loss will be memorialized with magnets on the fridge. On the plus side, the next time you see it on the fridge, you can always reach in and grab your blueberry pie, which helps reduce the painful shame."
Clyde smirks and lets out a chuckle at his last remarks before walking over to the car in the middle, a red sports car. Reaching down, he pops the trunk open, but what’s in there? We all ask. After a few moments, we see him reach down and grab something out of it with his left hand. What the camera is able to pick up is a picture of what appears to be Knox with goofy-looking glasses taped in the middle and a camo outfit.
Clyde: "At least when you used to wear this attire, you had an excuse to act stupid; now it just seems pathetic. Remember those days, Knox, when you didn’t have to try and the fans loved how easy it was to get behind the common man? Well, too bad you ate away that time in your life and sidelined your entire career. How does that feel? I can imagine it's not very good. Just keep reminding yourself that football is no longer an option with the shape you are in."
ROUND.
Clyde, still holding the picture in his left hand, reaches his right hand into his pocket and pulls out a lighter. Holding it in his right hand, he uses his thumb to strike down the lighter, exposing the flame. Raising the flame from the lighter, he holds it at the bottom of the picture, keeping it still. As the picture ignites, we see it being engulfed in flames. Smoke dissipates in the air in front of him, and he laughs about what has occurred.
Clyde: "Just like that, your entire NFL and pro wrestling career is gone right before your very eyes. You might as well call me a magician. You know the age of big men in wrestling is far beyond us, right? The new age is about talent, skill, and physical conditioning. I have trained hard for many years to get into the shape I am in, and I won’t let someone out of shape like yourself take that away from me."
Clyde throws the burning blaze picture down to the ground and stomps on it with a giant smirk on his face. With the camera operator tracking his every movement, he makes his way outside the garage and around to the front of his immaculate house. When he reaches the front of the house, we can see a brand new wood finish on the porch that goes from the front of the house to the side. Walking up the front steps, he walks over to a rocking chair set up on the front porch and takes a seat before he continues to speak.
Clyde: "Two Brooklyn superstars in one ring, but what ya’ll don’t know is Knox grew up on the other side of the tracks in a private neighbourhood. You went to private school, and money was never an issue in your household; correct me if I'm wrong, Knox? You weren’t out here in the trenches and working the corners just to afford something to eat. That, to me, proves right there that I was always hungrier in life than you were. I put every effort and dollar I have into becoming a superstar, but you just lived off mom and dad’s allowance. "Everything I own, I worked my tail off to get; you got everything handed to you on a silver spoon."
He closes his eyes for a few seconds as he pulls the hood of his sweater over his head. Recollecting his thoughts, we can see he is becoming more annoyed the longer this footage goes on, but he continues anyways.
Clyde: "Everyone wants to know what the future holds for myself or where I intend to go in IIW, but answers are still up in the air. I have yet to discuss with anyone in talent relations or upper management where Clyde stands among the rankings. I wanted to make sure options were all left on the table and that I could go in several directions with the company. The fans are a big part of what I do since they have been behind me since the moment I walked into IIW. As long as they keep cheering, I will keep providing them a reason to believe in me. Whatever happens in IIW, I can honestly say that I poured my heart and soul into it and gave it everything I had. I am not looking for championship chances yet because I earn those. I want to go out to the ring and not only be looked at as a wrestler but one hell of an athlete at the same time."
Clearly, looking at the facial expression, we can see Clyde absolutely means everything he is saying and believes in it at the same time. Putting his hood down, he looks at the camera operator before he says something.
"Hey, Knox Knox," says Clyde.
Camera Operator: "Who’s there?"
Clyde: "Knox"
Camera Operator: "Knox who?"
Clyde "Exactly"
A perfectly executed knock-knock joke isn’t what the fans expected, but even with how cheesy it was, it turned out great. Both the camera operator and Clyde are laughing uncontrollably; this lasts for minutes before they become silent again. It does look like Clyde has more to say, judging by the way he is looking and compiling his words.
Clyde: "Knox I know that was cheesy as fuck, but it is what it is, and that’s just it. Mayhem will speak loudly, and violence will be present. Jokes aside, you are currently standing in the way of me propelling my career towards the top. Once the dust settles and the smoke clears, we all know who will be standing at the end and who will be flat on their back. I just hope you understand that I will not hold back or give less of an effort just because of the win-loss record you have currently. Hopefully, after this game, I'll be on my way to bigger things, leaving you in the past. This is my future. My mind and heart are fully focused, sharp, and ready to compete."
Clyde Newton stands up from the seat on the porch with anger in his voice and a clear facial expression to match. Walking to the middle of the porch, he opens the front door to his house before walking inside and slamming the wooden door behind him, making a loud thump noise. At this point in time, the camera operator knows that it’s probably best not to follow him, as his temper and mood have switched fast. The camera operator staggers away from the porch before getting into his parked car in the driveway and starting the engine. The last thing he does before leaving the parking lot is to cut the footage to black, just ahead of Mayhem.
