The sound of howling wind is heard as the black screen comes to life, streaks of lightning are accompanied by loud booms of thunder. The stormy ambience makes it hard at first to figure out exactly what you're looking at. As the camera seems to slowly move towards it’s intended target a voice is heard booming from every direction.
Charlatan!
Imposter!
Cancer!
Finally we get a better idea of what we are looking at. The deck of a large ship, built in the style of 15th century Carrack, the large sails hoisted on each of the vessels three mast violently blowing in the powerful winds. Across the ship's deck is a large man, his long hair pulled up in a ponytail with a large brimmed feather hat atop his head and a devilish grin across his hard face. Between the bright flashes of light from the thunderstorm the details of his face reveal Jack Tyde recently returned to IIW. His deep voice almost growls as he speaks, the same voice we heard in the background at the start.
“I have returned to the ring, returned to IIW to re-establish the hierarchy that is the Nightmare Court. A force to keep the balance of power in check, to make sure that sins are paid for in full. As it would appear, it was not a moment too soon…,”
The water crashes hard against the side of the ship causing it to to sway from one side to the other, at one point it seemed almost certain to capsize from the force of the waves. Still Tyde’s stride never changes, his footing never seems unsure, he is steady as he makes his deliberate march across the deck. We do however get a glimpse of the ship’s name across the bow of the ship. “The Final Verdict”.
“While my initial return is focused on the trail of TJ Alexander, an immensely talented star who has seemed to have lost his edge. While a list of those whom the Court has business with is long indeed, names such as Crush and Andre Cash closely following that of TJ’s, I can not ignore what is right in front of me..”
He pauses staring directly at the camera for the first time, his hard eyes almost light up as his evil grin widens.
“Jay Vaughan, the holder of the IIW World Title.. HAH,”
He scoffs violently then chuckles a bit before turning and returning to his march across the deck. The winds have shifted at this point and Tyde is now marching directly into them, the wind almost blowing his hat off before he catches it with one hand, lowers his head and continues forward.
“It is Jay of those of his ilk that create the need for the Court, these frauds who would claim superiority without any adversity to harden them. A title stolen, held but never won is not a title with any meaning Mister Vaughan. The fact that you claim it as so proves your ignorance, and lack of worth. Your kind deserve no trial, only a swift execution. It is this attitude, this lack of pride that spreads like a poison and infects all those around you. If you are allowed to flaunt your ill gotten goods, if you are recognized and treated as something you are not it will only fan the flames of mediocrity that will ensure the death of IIW. It is your kind who wounded this once powerful industry. The court will not allow it, I do not need any jury to make these decisions. It does not require deliberation or even more than a passing thought, Jay Vaughan you are unworthy and will be dealt with accordingly,”
He finally makes it to the center mast and looks up, he reaches down and grabs a large rope as he starts to hoist another flag high on the pole.
“Jay will be dealt with, but TJ you are not as quickly settled. You see you have potential, you could even stand next to me as a member of the court. Your trial has just started but on Mayhem I will show you what happens should you fail in proving your worth….
As the flag begins to rise in the violent wind it quickly starts to flap and we see the image that is on it. A large skull and crossbones with tentacle like appendages coming from the bottom of the skull.
“Court is now in session,”

[The camera fades in to the dimly lit backstage area of the IIW arena. A sense of tension hangs in the air as wrestlers mill about, preparing for the night's events. Suddenly, the unmistakable figure of Jay Vaughan steps into frame, the IIW World Heavyweight Title gleaming over his shoulder.]
Jay Vaughan: Well, well, well. Look who decided to finally show up.
[Jay's voice drips with sarcasm as he addresses the camera, his gaze intense and unwavering.]
Jay Vaughan: John Cavanagh, it's been six long months since I relieved you of this beautiful piece of gold. And what have you been doing in all that time? Hiding? Licking your wounds? Or perhaps you've simply been too afraid to face the reality that I am the true IIW World Champion. It really can’t mean that much to you can it? Because you know? If it was me? And I’d had my title stolen off me…
I WOULD BE FUMING
I WOULD BE PLOTTING
I WOULDN’T LET A MOMENT PASS
Without trying to get back what I would think was mine, which is the whole point of reason why I have this title! Because you don’t deserve it! I DESERVE IT… I am a god damn Vaughan! The top of the top, the real legacy within the wrestling industry. So do you really want this back John? Or… Or is it just because you’ve been brought back into the realms of relevancy again because of the IIW? You think ooo maybe I should show up actually…this is a good chance to show my face, gain a little bit of credibility… But really it’s just the a chance for you to have your arse kicked and humiliated once again.
[Jay's eyes narrow as he speaks, his tone turning cold and calculating.]
Jay Vaughan: But enough about you, Cavanagh. Tonight, I find myself facing another opponent: The Nautical Nightmare, Jack Tyde. Now, Jack, I've heard all about your little mind games with TJ Alexander. Frankly, I couldn't care less about your petty squabbles. My focus is solely on one thing: Making the IIW the greatest place to be for all professional wrestlers. Why wouldn’t you want to come? I bring the fame, I bring the money, I bring the numbers. I am the person this company should and will be built around. I am the one who brings the numbers so that you can play little fun games around here with and get the eyeballs on you for the attention you so dearly crave!
[Jay's grip tightens on the World Title belt as he continues, his voice rising with intensity.]
Jay Vaughan: So, Jack, if you think you can distract me with your mind games and theatrics, you've got another thing coming. Tonight, I will prove once and for all why I am the true champion of IIW. And as for you, Cavanagh, if you've got any ounce of courage left in you, I suggest you show your face at Monday Night Mayhem. Because I'm not just holding this title at ransom, I'm holding your pride and dignity hostage as well.
[With a final steely glare into the camera, Jay Vaughan turns and strides off into the darkness, leaving a trail of uncertainty and anticipation in his wake.]
