Background|History: Born to Jason Hunter and Margorie Worthington-Hunter, Hunter II grew up in San Jose, California, where your prestige or lack thereof made your social status. His father a broker and his mother a partner of a Law Firm in San Francisco, Jason had never known life without money and opportunity. Having been taught that you must put in hard work to attain results, Hunter challenged himself to achieve absolute perfection in his life. He earned a perfect 4.5 GPA at Menlo Boarding School in Atherton. On top of this, Hunter achieved Championships, awards and many achievements from his High School Baseball, Rugby, and Cricket teams.
He attended Stanford University, where he poured hours of his life into learning all he could about the law, in pursuit of joining his mothers practice. It was here that he earned an undergraduate degree but put that part of his life on pause when a new challenge and new path presented itself. Castro Spriggs- former XHW wrestler and now turned back to law- was brought into one of Hunter's class as a presenter. Intrigued, Hunter spoke with Castro after the lecture with interest in furthering his law knowledge, not knowing what it would ultimately lead to. Finding Hunter as an interesting individual, Castro kept in contact with the young man and eventually became a mentor to him. During this time, his wrestling past had been brought into several conversations that peaked Jason's interest. Seeking perfection in everything that interested him, Jason soon began working in independent promotions with Castro's training and support. Jason had found a deep passion for the sport and within a matter of months, decided to shorten the amount of classes he was taking at Stanford to allow more time for wrestling. After two years of hard work and dedication, Jason Hunter was noticed by XHW scouts and brought into a house show for the newly returned Thursday Night Ignition. After an impressive victory over Keith Black, Hunter was promptly signed to a ninety day contract with XHW.
After going undefeated within his ninety day contract, XHW extended his contract to a year. Since that point, he had gone on to have an extremely well run on the Ignition brand. Over that period, he began a professional relationship with the Ignition GM, Layton Wescott, that ultimately held him back from the top Championship of the brand in favor of other men by Wescott. This lead Jason to firing Castro and becoming close to the then girlfriend of the GM, Saylor St. James. The couple were inseparable and with Wescott making the wrong moves for Saylor, she decided to pull the plug and seek a relationship with HP3. This ultimately brought an end to the professional relationship HP3 had with Wescott as well, when the two were drafted to Riot during the 2017 Draft Show. Since then, Hunter went on to win the 2017 All or Nothing Battle Royal and win his first attempt at the Undisputed Championship.
Jason Hunter and Saylor St. James became free agents and made it clear that they would sign with the highest bidder, making it quite clear that XHW could no longer afford their services. With the duo signed to WWE, He was scheduled for a match at X-Fest in the Elimination Chamber in which he lost. However, he kept his head high for his journey to WWE but as most know, that is where talent goes to die. After being used as a hot prospect that would change the face of WWE, Hunter had later been defeated by Roman Reigns in his first and only attempt at the WWE Championship. From there, he was buried in the roster and hardly seen with rumors that he clashed backstage with Vince McMahon on not being given the opportunities they had signed him up for. At the end of his contract, Hunter decided to move away from professional wrestling and get back to practicing law. Captured in an interview on a popular wrestling podcast, he made it clear that he had accomplished what he wanted in professional wrestling and despite WWE falling short of pushing him as they should have, Hunter no longer had a desire to wrestle any further. As he simply put it, he was already a proven professional wrestler and was every bit of impeccable as he had always claimed to be.
In 2021, he was contacted by IIW in hopes of bringing the former champion into it's fold.
