Orlando, Florida
It's about 7:00 PM, thunder is rolling, lightning is lighting up the otherwise dark skies. Clouds overhead block any chance of sunlight getting through, and heavy, heavy rain slaps the metal gutters of the cozy home Rogue and Cora have rented for the weekend. Inside a few different big candles are lit, spread out throughout the living room area. The large television is obviously playing a very big professional wrestling pay per view show from another company, but the camera isn't showing it, and it's muffled just enough to avoid any lawsuits.
The camera pans to the right, revealing a really nice comfortable black couch and a blue and black marble table in front of it. Rogue and Cora are dressed really casual, just enjoying the show. On the table is an extra large half-eaten cheese and pepperoni pizza, as well as two hot chocolates in nice glass gothic themed mugs for both Rogue and Cora.
A fireplace on the right wall next to the couch crackles softly, and lights up the living room area.
Cora kicks her bare feet up onto the table next to the pizza. Rogue grabs a tiny corner slice of the square cut pizza and tosses it into his mouth, chewing it up and swallowing it quickly. Rogue let's out a little burp. Rogue picks up the two hot chocolates, handing one to Cora who is sunken back into the couch, in complete bliss. Rogue blows on his mug of hot chocolate and takes a little sip.
Rogue - Mmm. This hot chocolate is good.
Cora - It's very good (She says sipping her mug)
Rogue - It's the little things.... It's the little things Phoenix....
Cora looks over at Rogue and smiles, but doesn't move. She's stuffed from the pizza and trying to relax.
Cora - The little things....
Rogue smiles at her and playfully pushes her in her stomach area.
Rogue - Stoner, so sorry pal. So very sorry. I know you kinda needed a win. Unfortunately for you, you were matched with me. Wrong guy to give you of they actually gave a shit for you. That's IIW though, ain't it? Doing what's best for business, and that's that. Regardless of the opportunities they give me, I know not to get too friendly with them. One day they might try to toss me to the young up and Comer, billing me as "Rogue the IIW Legend from years back." They will use ya until they can't squeeze a cent more out fo your body, then try to use you to elevate someone else. It's a nasty business we're in in that kind of way I guess.
Ah hell, you're not bad though. You're just a little dumbass some times. Shit maybe you even know what I'm saying already, and you just don't care? You never let it get to you huh? Good for you man. Good for you. I can't play that ignorance is bliss card though. Not like a lot of these guys around here. Not like Anthony Phoenix.
Cora nods her head but still leaves her body sunk back into the couch.
Cora - Anthony Phoenix.
Rogue - You see Anthony Phoenix has the same problem.
Rogue chuckles.
Rogue - He won this belt about a month ago, and he thinks that it makes him some hot shit or something. The guy is arrogant as fuck, and quite frankly, that will be what does him in. I've come across a dozen Anthony Phoenixs in my short time in this sport already. You see them everywhere. The good looking, athletic, flashy types. The cocky and arrogant demeanor. He may not even be trying to come off that way, he's just being himself..... which is even more concerning.
This is the kind of guy that spiked the ball on the freshman in gym class when we played volleyball. Or fouled the hell out of the freshman during a game of basketball because he knew they wouldn't step to him. Anthony Phoenix is a coward. Like I said I've seen dozens of him. He's the ultra competitive, closet wimp. Notice how he hasn't even mentioned me yet? Has yet to publicly say a damn thing about me. What is he waiting for? He knew I was going to beat Stoner.
Cora nods her head.
Cora - He knew....
Rogue - I mean, I told him. I told him I was going to win.... guess he either didn't beleive me or wanted to pretend like I wasn't coming for him and his belt. Too late for that now. I'm already on the way. I'm on the way to take that belt.
It's been about two months since I came here to IIW. It's been a steady climb to the top. I'm already in the top five of the rankings, and it's because I beleive in what I'm doing here. And I'm doing it all MY WAY.
It's the only way I know how to do things.
Authenticity.
Rogue pauses and stares into the fireplace. He looks back into the camera.
Because I am Rogue....
I am whatever I need to be.... in the moment....
Rogue looks intensely into the camera.
I hope you're ready Phoenix. The seven people before you were not.
Cora - They weren't ready....(She says shaking her head)
Rogue sinks back into the couch and rests his hand on Cora's leg.
The scene ends.

Thursday, April 15, 2021. 2:00 AM.
Jupiter, Florida.
Heavy rain is pouring around a wooden balcony on the side of a nice beachside home. The balcony is large, reaching the entire length of the side of the house. Far enough away from the wooden railing of the balcony to avoid the heavy downfall, Rogue and Cora sit across from each other at a glass table. A few large lights hang down from the ceiling of the balcony area to properly light up where Rogue and Cora are sitting.. They are playing a casual game of Magic the Gathering, listening to the newest episode of the Jim Cornette Experience.
Cora is using a black and red aggressive vampire themed deck. Rogue is using a black and white control lifeline deck. They both scan the table, going through their turns, saying "go" to signal the other person that it's their turn. They each laugh every so often at what they hear on the podcast as they play, making facial expressions at each other based on moves they are making during their turns.
Rogue - Another day here in paradise, then it's back to that shit IIW arena, in that shit Manchester weather.
Cora - Don't remind me. This week has been amazing.
Rogue - It has been. I like that this is just how we live now. Going wherever we want, renting places out. This is very cool. I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Cora - And we're gonna keep living like this. There's no reason we can't. Up from here.
Rogue - Up and forward. But we're gonna stop to smell the roses along the way. Each and every rose.
Cora - Absolutely.
Cora stands up.
Cora - You win. Want something from inside?
Rogue - Yeah, actually. Grab me one of those Stoks black iced coffees. Thank you.
Cora - You got it babe.
Rogue moves his back around and cracks his neck, making himself comfortable in his chair while he waits.
Rogue - Anthony Phoenix, what's the deal, bud? You've gone radio silent on me. Is this some kind of mind trick you're trying to play?
Rogue snickers.
Rogue - Are you too busy in the gym, doing those curls in the mirror? Or are you too busy getting spray tanned? What's up? Where you at?
Cora comes back with a glass bottle of tea and hands Rogue his iced coffee.
Rogue swirls the bottle around and unscrews the top off of the coffee. He takes a drink and sets it down on the table. Cora sits back down across from Rogue.
Rogue - Cora, where is our friend Phoenix at?
Cora - Who knows?
Rogue - I wish I knew.
Cora - He probably just wants to spend a few more days alone with his belt, before you take it from him.
Rogue - Maybe.
Cora - Our friend must be nervous. When people are nervous they can be camera shy.
Rogue - Whatever the case is, I'm not used to this. I'm used to battling people that can't shut up. This guy just vanished on us. I don't know what to make of it, but I ain't gonna let it ruin my focus. Phoenix, you have about three days left to enjoy that title, bud. Despite all of this fun and relaxation people see Cora and I sharing, we have been busting our asses in the gym, covering all bases.
There's nothing you can hit me with that I haven't prepared for or already been hit with before. And as everyone can see, there's nothing I've been hit with to this point in IIW that was capable of keeping me down. And trust me when I tell you, that you have NOTHING in your arsenal that will be able to change that.
You're going up against the most motivated version of me that's ever stepped into the squared circle Phoenix. You're going to have to bring your A game just to put up a fight. But at the end of the night, I will be the one getting my hand raised. I'll be the one leaving with that belt.
Cora - Another IIW Legend. Another Rogue victory.
Rogue smiles.
Rogue - Another game of Magic?
Cora - I'm beating your ass this time.
Rogue - Haha.. sure, sure..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The scene opens up in a small dark room with a hammock inside of it. A few small candles lit on a table behind the hammock provide enough light to show Cora laying in it. Cora is wearing a sheer black bikini bottom and a purple bikini top. She has her hands folded and laid on top of her bikini bottom to block out the view from the camera.
Cora - Anthony where are you? This hasn't been much fun for Rogue and I.
Cora moves her hands away from her bikini bottom and puts them over her head, but a shadow keeps her lower body covered enough for the camera to not see anything. Cora opens a drawer from the table and reaches in, grabbing a handful of cards.
Cora throws the cards in the air, and they land spread out in the room. The camera zooms in on the floor, and moves right to left, showing most of the cards. About half of the cards have Anthony Phoenix on them with an X through his body. The other half show Rogue holding the TV title.
Cora - See ya soon, Phoenix. You can only hide until Monday.
The scene fades out.
