(VIP Eddie Zam sits in his office at The Big Western, its late- Sandeep and Wang are no where to be seen. Savage Grace is deep asleep in some cardboard box or place he calls home- after a grueling day going thru VHS tapes and footage. Zam takes a moment to reminisce ...about his beginnings in this ruthless industry, when he was young, dumb and numb.... Like Tyler, TJ, Markito Alessio and a few others around IIW)
(He takes a look at the presentation of the awards night ceremony of the - 1998 Top 100 Wrestlers in The National Wrestling Council....He fast forwards to the start of the ceremony. Chris Schukar speaks......)
The concept behind the NWC 100 came about in a conversation over how to honor
the NWC as it approached it's anniversary. It was quickly decided that rather
than conduct a poll, the list would be developed through research. This list is
not about ranking the best roleplayers and strategists. This list is about on
camera accomplishment through titles, angles and overall contribution and
impact to and on the NWC first year or so. Whether you take it as fact or take
it as falsehood abundant novelty, make sure you do one thing. Enjoy it. . . .

26) War
25) Dark Angel
Dark Angel may never be one of the NWC's most popular wrestlers. Dark Angel may
never be one of the NWC's most charismatic wrestlers. But Dark Angel can
undoubtedly be called one of it's hardest working. MCW's first Grand Slam
Champion, Angel also had a major bout with Soul Shadow at NWC's Civil War PPV,
and has since challenged for the NWC World Title. After a short stint in the
new CCW, Angel now rassles in the MWA.
24) "The Man” Jon Atlas
He calls himself “The Man”. He’s not the only one who thinks that’s what he is.
A member of The Upper Echelon, Jon Atlas can proudly say he’s one half of one
of the longest reigning World Tag Team Champions of all time. Never far behind
a controversy, Jon Atlas was the ref in the Ken Nemesis-911 match at AEL, and
fought what turned out to be his own father at the NWC’s Civil War. The most
exciting part of all? He’s only just rolled up the sleeves of his NWC career.
23) Andrew "Hurricane" Pierce
Some wrestlers stay in one region their entire career. Others... don't. Andrew
Pierce has made a mark on more regions than perhaps any other wrestler in the
NWC. The original CCW's original champion, Pierce has also found success in the
SWF, and currently toils in the LSW along with his cohorts Ray Pierce and Sam
Leever.
22) "Maverick" Trace Davis
He can be called the greatest tag team wrestler in the National Wrestling
Council. Having held the MCW Tag straps four times, and holding the National
Wrestling Council World Title with two different partners, Trace Davis's career
has been paved with tag gold. Davis currently teams with Kyle Warner.
21) "Cowboy" Wyatt Hayes
"Cowboy" Wyatt Hayes is the rare wrestler who can say he's equally good in both
singles and tag competition. A former National Wrestling Council World Tag
titleholder along with Trace Davis, Hayes has also held the MCW's Tag belt
along with two Motor City Title reigns to his credit.
20) Samuel Ten Bears
Samuel Ten Bears has owned the LSW Regional belt for a good portion of LSW's
existence. Aside from being a signature player, Ten Bears has been involved in
a headlining feud with Avalon Britton, and is one of the participants in one of
the most famous title matches in NWC history, that being his challenging Soul
Shadow for the World Title at last March's Across Enemy Lines.
19) Keith "Rockshade" Schiano
Keith Schiano has called himself the most hated man in wrestling. True or
false, he's also one of it's brightest young stars. Winning the World Title in
one of his few NWC matches, Schiano has also had tag success with former world
champion and resident emperor Mr. Sinister.
18) Lee "Starman" Clark
At one time, Lee Clark was one of the NWC's brightest and most popular young
stars. Today, after a long spin as one of the MCW's top heels, "Starman" has
become one of the NWC's most respected veterans, and has reconciled with the
fans. In recent months, Clark's career has soared to new heights on the heels
of his surprising finals appearance in the RTR tournament's finals. Since,
Clark defeated Mr. Sinister and Vic Valari to gain his first Michigan-National
Title and remains on a roll.
17) Aztex Blaze
The disease of alcoholism has struck down many a great man. It is only a
greater man that can in turn strike down the disease and rise above it's ashes.
Aztex Blaze is one of those men. Born again, Aztex Blaze has risen through the
ranks of both the MCW and the National Wrestling Council. His greatest
achievement was an epic reign as NWC Tag Team Champions along with Redd Pike.
16) "100% Perfect" Shawn Arrows
Shawn Arrows, the BAWF Manhattan Champion, was considered one of the NWC's most
underrated stars. Some things don't change. Shawn Arrows, former NWC Tag
Champion, is considered one of the NWC's most underrated stars. As this PoA
member improves by the card, the question becomes, what else WILL he
accomplish?
15) "The Moronic" Joshua Lee
Criticized, underestimated and counted out, Joshua Lee has made a career out of
beating the odds and proving the critics wrong. Highlighted by his shocking win
over Dread Saxon in a NWC World Title match, Lee's off beat, humorous antics
have caught the eyes of many a man councilwide. Lee currently practices his
craft in the Missouri Wrestling Alliance.
14) Eric Rage
Intense. It can be said that there may be no better word to describe Eric Rage.
A man with a give it your all, pull no punches style, Rage managed to capture
the original CCW's top belt. Since then, Rage, as 1/2 of The Regulators,
captured the LSW tag championship. Rage's career is highlighted by his capture
of the NWC World Title by defeating Idol Austin. Shortly after Rage's reign
ended, so did his contract with the Council and the man has not been seen
since, but he will always be remembered.
13) "Vicious" Vic Valari
Former NWC World Champion and cofounder of the famous Team Supreme, Vic Valari
cannot be called the most consistent wrestler ever. But it's not insane to say
that he just might be the most talented. If it wasn't already, Valari's legend
was cemented in an epic battle with Mr. Sinister at AEL '98. One
Michigan-National title away from having held all the MCW single's gold, with
the exception of the M-N Cruiser belt, there is no question that Triple V is
one of MCW and NWC's Triple A stars.
12) "The Foundation" Tony Pride
Tony Pride was once the glitz and glamour of "Hollywood" embodied in a
wrestler. Today, one amazing World Tag Title reign later, "The Foundation" is a
whole lot more than that shallow facade. Arguably the most improved wrestler of
the last six months, Pride seems poised and ready to make run for the NWC's top
single's prize.
11) "VIP" Eddie Zam
The most hated man in both the MWA and NWC, Eddie Zam oozes arrogance. That
characteristic is not that uncommon in the wrestling world. Backing it up is. A
multi time former World Tag Champion with Victor Manson, this PoA cofounder can
unquestionably be called a "Very Important Person".
10) Redd Pike
You may not always be able to understand him, but once he steps foot into the
ring, Redd Pike's message is clear. Redd Pike's straight forward,
individualistic style quickly made him a hit with the fans. He never preached,
he just did his job. It can't be said that he didn't do it well. A former
Michigan-National and Motor City Champion, Redd Pike's greatest moments came as
one half of one of the greatest National Wrestling Council World Tag Champs in
history, along with Aztex Blaze. Running the table, the run made by these two
at the end of spring/early summer is remembered with wet eyes by wrestling
historians to this day. Pike spent the last days of his career in the MWA,
where in he mysteriously withdrew from competition and hasn't been seen since.
9) Hunter "Sublime" Sabuani
One of the NWC's newest superstars, Sabuani's "Sublime TV" is broadcasting to
great reviews throughout the council! A member of Georgia Championship
Wrestling, Sabuani came out of nowhere to stop short the reign of "The Moronic"
Joshua Lee to claim the NWC World Title. After a victory over Avalon Britton,
Sabuani's reign came to an end against Steve Sire. However, his popularity did
not, and his position as a symbol of the new age of NWC wrestlers was secure.
Since then, Sabuani went on to defeat Goliath in an exciting best 2 out of 3
falls match at Renaissance '98.
8) "Incredible" Idol Austin
If Idol Austin seems cocky, it's because he is. After a short conversation with
the man, you will come away knowing many things you perhaps did not know about
the man. Including the minor detail that he is the NWC's first and only holder
of both the World and World Tag straps. Apparently a man with a penchant for
battle royals, Austin won the former at the NWC's Civil War Pay Per View, and
the latter at a Tag Battle Royal on SCCW's Snake Eyes program. A member of the
Upper Echelon and former member of the Powers of Arrogance, Austin now grapples
in Sin City Championship Wrestling.
7) Avalon Britton
This LSW standout calls himself "Excellence In Ebony". But while he may be the
NWC's best African American star, it can be said that he may quite simply be
the NWC's best. Winner of the 32 man Road To Gold tournament, Britton is a
walking thesis on endurance. Aside from outlasting 31 other men, Britton is
proud owner of the LSW's longest title reign and has been the federations
headliner for close to twelve months. If Avalon's track record is any
indication, Excellence will gain the one prize that has eluded him in '98, the
NWC World Title. And then the only question will be: Will anyone be able to
outendure his excellence? Experts aren't quite so sure.
6) Mr. Sinister
It has always been said that the pen is mightier than the sword. If you have
ever seen Mr. Sinister though, you know that is not the case. If you have, you
surely know that in at least one instance, they are both pretty lethal. "The
Emperor's" combination of a venomous tongue combined with a take no prisoners
barroom brawl style have left many a competitor quiver in his wake. Holding the
MWA title for what was at the time record length, Sinister also held the
Missouri State Tag Titles on two separate occasions during this span, with two
different partners. A former NWC World Champion, Sinister currently resides in
Detroit's Motor City Wrestling promotion as a member of Team Supreme.
5) Victor "Big Hurt" Manson
Victor Manson's nickname is Big Hurt. It is nothing if not well deserved. A
member of the two time former NWC World Tag Champion Ruthless Villains and
cofounder of the legendary Powers of Arrogance, Manson rarely finds himself on
the short end of the stick. Currently in the midst of a Missouri State Title
reign spanning half a year, Manson seems determined to continue explaining the
definition of "Big Hurt" to opponents the Council over, in search of the one
prize that has managed to elude him: The National Wrestling Council World
Heavyweight Title.
4) "Sexy" Steve Sire
"Sexy" Steve Sire. A superstar when he entered the council, Sire will be called
nothing less than a legend when he leaves it. In Motor City Wrestling, Sire has
embarked on epic struggles with Dread Saxon and Scorpatoa over the promotion's
Michigan-National Title while always keeping one eye on his arch nemesis Ronny
Smith. A former member of the Powers of Arrogance and current member of the
Upper Echelon, today Sire's interests lay squarely on one goal. Retaining his
NWC World Title, by hook and by crook. Sire even managed to outlast six other
men in the tremendous RTR tournament at Ren98 to keep his most prized
possession. When the ride will end, no one quite knows. But regardless of when
it does, it has assured it's place in Council history as one of the greatest
reigns of all time. Sire, meanwhile, has simply assured his place in Council
history as one of the greatest.
3) Soul Shadow
The National Wrestling Council's first ever World Champion. Can there be a
higher accolade? The NWC's most famous journeyman, Soul Shadow has brought his
honest, hardworking style and huge fanbase to the original CCW, VCW, SWF, the
second CCW and has since been spotted in the offices of the GCW. A man that can
be called the elder statesman of the Council, this two time former World
Champion has wrestled many of the most memorable matches in Council history,
including a Television Title bout against Tony Pride, and an infamous
headlining bout against Dark Angel at NWC's Civil War. There is no question, he
is the soul of the NWC.
2) White Tiger
White Tiger quietly entered the NWC through the Empire State Wrestling
Alliance. White Tiger quietly toiled in the Missouri Wrestling Alliance, as it
came to be known. But when opportunity came knocking at his door, this quiet
beast would roar. Defeating Vic Valari, White Tiger would embark on an NWC
World Title who's two month, ten day length is equaled only by the size of it's
legend. Running the table and working on his second lap, Tiger's reign would
come to an end not by any competitor, but by himself. Soon after, Tiger pulled
himself from the MWA and the wrestling world in general. Aside from a short
involvement with the second CCW promotion months later, Tiger remains dormant
on the wrestling scene and remains one of it's most sought after free agents.
1) Dread Saxon
The man. The myth. The franchise. Over the course of his career, one that has
spanned the length of the federation he competes in itself, Dread Saxon has
earned the name "The Franchise". From the moment he defeated Vic Valari to
claim the MCW's Motor City Title, rarely has a day passed that has featured
Saxon without gold around his waist. If any statistic can define his career,
it's his 4 Michigan-National Title reigns. Consistently in the main event of
the Michigan promotion, Saxon has battled for that belt with the likes of
Scorpatoa, Vic Valari and "Sexy" Steve Sire.
If Saxon's MCW title history doesn't explain his significance, perhaps the long
list of his epic battles and feuds does. A participant in the NWC's A New Era
tournament to crown it's first World Champion. A battle with Soul Shadow, one
between two of the NWC's top faces, on the stage of Coboslam for the World
Title. A 30-Minute Iron Man Bout with Tony Pride at Across Enemy Lines. The
Civil War battle royal at Civil War '98. A participant on behalf of MCW in the
TRR. If there has been a major event in MCW or the NWC, Saxon is not far
behind.
If there is any question that perseverance pays off, let Dread Saxon quell the
flames of doubt. On August 1st, 1998, on his fourth attempt (second one on
one), Dread Saxon defeated Eric Rage and called the National Wrestling Council
World Title his own. He would continue to do so for over two months. On the
10th of October, 48 hours short of White Tiger's record, Dread Saxon was
defeated for the most prestigious award in modern sport. His legacy was
secured, however. He was and is the champion's champion. He is........ the
franchise.

(VIP Eddie Zam presses stop on the VHS player and pauses to reflect. He grabs a voice recorder ... the old school type with a little cassette in them. And begins to talk)
Zam: Note to self: I was Twenty One and the Eleventh ranked man in The number one federation in the planet at the time........ Twenty ONE!! Lets never forget. Twenty one years old.....On top of the world, the most hated man in the industry..... And where are those Top 10 clowns? Where? Not one of them is left in sight, frail, old, fat and retired.... I stood face to face with all of them at one point or another ... some WERE friends ... most enemies....I was the youngest man then, NOW - It's Twenty Twenty One- Its the opposite...
It's been a long time, I will not let nothing get in my way.... Im enjoying myself once again, I feel rejuvenated- perhaps its time to bring out the old friends, The Lead Pipe and The StraitJacket...... I think Tyler and TJ both deserve some VIP Treatment.

(VIP Eddie Zam ends the recording, kicks back in his chair....and continues to reminisce and PLAN.......)
