It's quiet in these off days, the IIW arena. It's why the World Heavyweight Champion comes here to think. It's also easier to cut promos from the actual building, so here we are.
Jake: It's crazy to think that it took me more than thirteen years to regain the World Championship. Having it happen at KKND and against Jonny C is almost poetic justice. Not all of you will remember this, but nine years ago at that same event I was scheduled to face Jonny C yet again, with Jason Fenix thrown in the mix for good measure for the World Championship. That match never happened though, and it was the second time I got a text from Osh Vaughn simply stating, “Event's cancelled”, and that was it for IIW.
The champ sits there somewhere right in the middle of the stands, in the middle of a row, with one foot up on the chair in front of him. The IIW World Championship is draped over his shoulder.
Jake: It's not much wonder why I didn't come back the next time. Every time we get headway something comes up and IIW closes up. You know what though? It's never closed up with me on top. Now that I've regained
MY title just look around, IIW is going stronger than it has since the last time I held this title, hell there's even new management. Osh likes to play with fire, but it's nice to see no one but himself get burned for once.
He takes his foot off the seat in front of him and smooths out the plain black IIW t-shirt he's wearing.
Jake: You know to hear some people tell it they twisted my arm into taking this title match on Mayhem. Certain people, recently removed from power, would make it sound like this was some last ditch effort to force my hand into finally putting my title on the line on Mayhem. Let's ignore the fact that it was driving me mad to sit around and
WAIT for the chance to step in the ring and defend my title. Lets overlook the fact that I had to stand by week after week, Mayhem after Mayhem and watch other people defend other titles while I just sat by like yesterday's news making the World Championship an afterthought.
The most important championship in professional wrestling today sat on the sidelines while people fawned over the Television champion. The World Championship sat around gathering dust while people cried about the Tag Team Titles. The World Championship laid around like yesterday's garbage piled under these seats getting buried and forgotten all because I'm the one that has the title.
The differences between Osh Vaughn and I are a matter of public record. He tried to steal the International title from me nine years ago and as you can all see now, that's the way in which he operates. He tried for
YEARS to keep me away from the title I made famous all to feed his own ego, and to what end? I'm still here and I have it back, because after all the double dealing and backstabbing in the end he needed me to come save his company from his self-destruction.
So pardon me if I don't buy into his little narrative where he forced this match to happen. I was More than happy to finally get the chance to get in the ring and show everyone just why the IIW World Championship is
THE greatest title in professional wrestling and just why I
AM the greatest professional wrestler alive today.
He stands up and walks down the row of seats to the aisle.
Jake: Contrary to the story going around, I signed the contract to face Donny Allen for
MY World Championship before I even stepped in the ring to face Scotty Adams at Worlds Collide. One of the hardest championship defences I ever had to make, but I know more than any other that this title..
He holds up the IIW World Championship.
Jake: This title doesn't mean anything if I don't get in the ring and defend it. If I had lost to Scotty Adams, that was fine, he could sign his own contract to face Donny Allen if he wished, but he didn't. Despite his best efforts he couldn't take this title from me, there's no one that can. So by the time I finished beating Scotty Adams and retaining my title and that spineless coward Donny Allen jumped me from behind, the ink had already dried on his title match contract.
Nobody in this business forces me into anything I don't want to do, and despite what some people may want you to think...
He places the title back on his shoulder.
Jake: I don't shy away from anyone. Donny Allen only had to ask for a title match and he had it. He's done almost everything here in IIW and now he's a Hall of Famer. Almost everything, but the one thing you haven't done Donny, was get your hands on this.
He looks at the World Championship on his shoulder.
Jake: And you're not getting it now. It wasn't enough that you challenged me and got your match Donny, you had to go one step beyond. When you showed what kind of coward you are jumping me after my match with Scotty Adams you got as close as you're getting to my title. You made it personal Donald. You should have just kept it at the match and gone to hit a gym. You haven't been in the ring in how many years now? They used to call you the
“Wrestling Supremeo” didn't they? At least they did till I came around. You were a pretty big deal then, winning championships showing your dominance, all at least until I showed up to eclipse you.
You used to think you were great Donny, but I exist on a higher level than you. I always have, and now you're going to have to get in the ring and face me when I'm at my best, having my best matches against the best opponents I've ever faced in my career while you've just crawled out of whatever hole you were hiding in just to get another shot at the big time.
You sat back Donald, and you've watched for months while I worked my ass off to get back to the top and I busted my ass to build this company back up beyond the heights it reached last time I was the champion and you got bitten by the bug. You see how well everything is going and you see how hot IIW has become again and you waltz back in out of the hole you've been hiding in for years and you think you're just going to step into
MY ring and take
MY title that took me more than thirteen hard years to earn back just days before I tie my own goal as the longest reigning World Champion in IIW history. You came back trying to ride my coattails Donny, but be prepared to get knocked the fuck off.
He walks down the aisle to the ring and smoothly hops over the ringside barrier.
Jake: And let this be an example to the rest of you...
He slides the IIW World Championship into the ring and rolls under, picking the belt up as he rolls and ending up on his feet in one smooth motion.
Jake: This is
MY ring and I'm tired of sitting in the back show after show while everyone else defends their titles week in and week out. I'm not the guy who sets records by sitting back and hiding from anyone who's looking for a title shot. I'm
THE World Champion and I'm the
BEST there is in this and any other company. IIW built it's reputation for being the best on
MY reputation of being the best and I'm sick and tired of not being able to defend that reputation. Donny Allen you want my title?
He lays the belt out on the mat like a line drawn in the sand.
Jake: Then you come try to take it over my dead body. You've seen what I can do in the tournament to win this title back. You saw what I can do in this ring against Jonny C to finally win back the title and avenge a loss years in the making, and you've seen what I can do to defend this title when one of the best challengers in the world comes and tries to take it. So now it's time to see what you can do Donny Allen. It's time to see what years of sitting on the sidelines, watching from afar as a new generation of athletes comes to push your legend into obscurity can do. It's time to come out of the shadows you're hiding in and really challenge me for this title and show the world the Donny Allen that won all those titles and earned himself a place in the IIW Hall of Fame. Come and prove your still
THAT guy Donny. Prove that you still have it in you. You want back in my ring and a shot at my title, then come earn it Donny.
You hide under a rock for years and slither out when they promise you a nice ring and then use it to sucker punch me after I had defended my title... Come see what that earns you Donny. Come and bring every bit of what got you into the Hall of Fame because you're going to need it and a whole lot extra to take
MY title away from me. It's a high bar to the IIW World Championship, Donny Allen, it always has been. You better have spent all those years away training in the ring, training in the gym, training anywhere you could, because you've never been able to reach the height it takes to reach the IIW World Championship before, and that bar has gotten a
LOT higher since you've been around last.
Fade.
