✯ DENISE DIMARCO : RE-GROUPING ✯
THE DIMARCO-ZORA PENTHOUSE
DENISE (PURPLE), TALI (GOLD) “So… You didn’t do the match on Combat? Why? There are dirt sheet reports saying that you dropped out at the last minute,” a frowning and disappointed Tali Zora questions Denise, who is occupied with checking how many Google searches she racked up during the good old month of November. With the look on her face, it is easy to assume that the numbers are looking satisfactory and up to her high and nearly impossible to reach standards. Things are looking good for the Diamond Brand… but are the two inseparable women on the same page, success set aside? It’s quite hard to answer that. “No, I didn’t. Doing that one promo was enough. I can’t be wasting my time on a show nobody is invested in,” she scoffed, setting her phone on the table and putting her focus on the woman sitting across from her. This seems to be topic that has been brought up loads of times already, because Denise’s expression shifts from perky to one that is blank. Maybe even annoyed, and evidently something that she does not want to be brought up at the moment. “You said that you would do it though. I kept up my side of the deal and sat outside of the IIW arena to sell your shirts. This is about your image, and as your PR manager, I cannot be the person doing all of the work in order to keep you at the top in terms of popularity compared to the other girls,” Tali gets up from her seat and crosses her arms, walking around the table to stand over Denise is still seated. Denise gets up from the chair, and easily towers over Tali since she is the taller woman by far. This causes a clear disturbance in the confidence of Tali, the manager cowering and stepping back to create some distance between the both of them. This tension has been simmering for about two weeks now, but it seems to be finally coming to a head tonight. Denise shakes her head slowly, disapproving Tali’s resistance towards her. As far as she knows, this is not how their relationship is meant to go. “Fine, I messed up. But, I have an idea. You want me to look good for the marks? I’ll look good for the marks. Get the camera crew, call the training center and let them that we’re coming. I’m going to be training you and we’ll spread the video online. People will think it’s cool that I like wrestling enough to help somebody else get their footing in the ring. I get praise for being helpful, and you get some attention for wanting to be a wrestler… Or, you can pretend to want to be one, I guess.” “You want me to train with you?” Tali asks, raising a curious brow to the sudden suggestion. It could actually end up working, but as far as she knows, somebody could have leaked the conversation she had with the fan a couple weeks ago outside the Combat show, which heavily implied that Denise was holding her back. That she has all the tools to make it on her own, and could even sell her own t-shirts if she really wanted to. If Denise knows about that conversation, that could explain why she’s being so cold lately. “I want you to pretend to train with me, duhhhh. Everyone knows that you don’t want to be a star yourself. Why else would you take on the job as somebody’s manager? To be the brains behind the actual star. That’s not a bad thing either, don’t get me wrong. You know your place and that’s why we work so well together! Besties for life.”“Oh! Yeah, you’re totally right!” “We’ll start the training videos next week and upload them to my channel. That will get people talking about me… no, us… in a more positive light after the Combat scandal. Agreed? Tell me that isn’t one of the best ideas that you’ve ever heard!” “It’s a pretty good idea…” “Yep! #BestieGoals will be trending everywhere.”Tali nods and accepts the proposition that Denise has given her; not like arguing would have done anything. But, she’s far too comfortable in her role to advocate for more. Wrestling is not something the two of them have agreed upon, so her unexpectedly growing a true interest for the business (one that her friend, and ultimately her boss, lacks) is something she will just have to brush off. It’s a dream she is not destined for and must be swept under the rug if they are to keep working together. Unless, they can possibly work together as a team in the future… Tali is still weighing her options, and the options are plentiful. For now though, staying complacent is her best bet. "Anyway, Tali, we have a match to study for. I'm up against a Russian lady who supposedly murdered someone--" "I think that was just for TV. Like, a gimmick...""Whatever. She's still really scary. So, a Russian pretend-murderer and three other nobodies. I'm going to need to compile some information on then, 'cause they're rather irrelevant! Serious... who even is this Riott girl? Is she new?" "Um... Well, she's new to me! Let me open Google... do a little searching. We got this, 'Nise."
